Spam your playlists or those artists/albums that are on them? I’ve got Tool, Cruxshadow, Icon of Coil, Chombichrist, Imparative Reaction, VNV Nation, Assemlbage 23, Tori Amos, Social Distortion, NIN, Mesh, KMFDM …probably left a few out…
Give me more ideas. Album must have been released in 2004 - 2006.

I was mostly into indie rock at this time. Made a spotify playlist for myself. I included a couple 2003 albums I was definitely still playing during vanilla. Also note technically about all albums released in 2004 was prior to launch, that was late November 2004, so also included just because they were in rotation for sure for me at launch.

The site ‘besteveralbums’ is also pretty good to find popular albums by year.

Replacing in game music, some of the best game music ever made, is just a crime.

I recall listening to a lot of what was called “post-grunge” music during Vanilla when I was grinding BGs:
Hurt - Hurt Vol. 1
Breaking Benjamin - We Are Not Alone, Phobia
Crossfade - Crossfade, Falling Away
Shinedown - Leave a Whisper, Us and Them
Earshot - Two
Godsmack - IV
She Wants Revenge - She Wants Revenge
Three Days Grace - One-X

When I used to love PvP and enjoy the whole faction rivalries I’d listen to Cannibal Corpse - Kill among other albums to dumpster Alliance Players.

No playlist - but so far all the music listed is garbage.
Here are some albums from 2004-2006 that are worth listening to.
Ashes of the Wake - Lamb of God (2004)
Sacrament - Lamb of God (2006)
With Oden on Our Side - Amon Amarth (2006)
Gojira - From Mars to Sirius (2005)
That’s all I can think of.
