hi i selected the classic beat from the drop down… but the play button is greyed out? i was able to play in the previous stress test… also couldnt create a new topic in the bugs forum.
any idea whats up?

Oh, my mistake. I misunderstood your question.
Your probably trying to play Beta. Just go to Regular Classic.
Do you have more than one Classic installed? There is a beta client section that will be greyed out if you do not have beta access
Select World of Warcraft Classic, not the one that says Beta in front of it.
I was able to download the game and go to the log in screen a week or so ago, but have had the play button grayed out since some time shortly after that. Haven’t been able to listen to that sweet, sweet title screen music since then. My drop down menu says world of warcraft classic, but no luck either…
Edit: I have not yet renewed my sub, but it seems like you may have and are having this issue despite that?
Be sure you have the correct account selected with an active subscription in the other dropdown menu as well.

I actually had the same issue a few days ago after I was downloading it.
What fixed it for me was that I actually clicked the classic wow icon/execute the classic wow .exe on my desktop to load battlenet and the play button was able to be pressed
