If what you want is gear progression, there is indeed a “right way” and a “wrong way” to play.
Depends what you’re looking to do. There’s always a “right way” and “wrong way”. AFKing in Ironforge for instance will not help you win any Pet Battles.

WHY would you send retail players to classic when we are already dealing with such massive queues… GG blizzard.
Well, hopefully their algorithm chose emptier realms as to not bog down ones with queues. When I logged in, it put me on Old Blanchy, where I created a DK and got in and out. I’m not sure the population of it, but there was no queue Saturday early evening when I logged in it.
Even if it put me in one with a queue, there would be no way I’d wait in the queue. I can’t imagine anyone from retail coming just to get the mount would want to wait in a queue… so I would take a guess and say you weren’t impacted greatly from this.

I just find people trying to put a positive spin on people AFKing and ruining BGs to be humorous.
For me it’s a nice bonus on a game I had planned to create a DK on anyways. I loved that starting story and I was quite upset when they simply got rid of it in retail, rather than giving players the option to go original story or skip.
I thought it a great way to get immersed in the character and even the back and forth of the quest is still fun for me. I had always wanted to do that part of the DK story again and now I can. 
Great. I have no idea how to play a death knight. Can I just spam the attack button or do I have to put some thought into this?
too bad its not usable in TBC or even Wrath - only usable in shadowlands and beyond - what a joke blizzard
Same problem. I’m chipping away at it every few days. One of the only classes I’ve never tried.
I went and did mine today.
What can I say. A couple hours maybe if play in Wrath Classic for this beauty,worth it.
I love everything about it.
I really feel like this was the mount DKs should have gotten in og Wrath over the bone vulture.

Google a guide for its talents. YOu may want blood favored spec. the icy veins one has it pretty simple and fun to use. Wowheads seems decent too.

Plague, icy touch for dots and to add some punch to blood boil (a few DK casts work better with both DoT’s in place). Death strike and heartstrike are your more instant attacks.
I use the icy veins one and its solid enough for me till I have the gold to play with respec experiments. Got me to 65 so far no major issues. Not seeing issues any to 70 either hopefully.
So many unhappy people you all should be thankful that there is a awesome looking mount that is easy to get.

Except its not getting them to play retail its getting people to play classic LK. There is nothing you have to do in Retail. You couldnt literally play classic then not play retail again till DF and come back to the mount. So this would be an attempt to get more people to play classic not retail
But I dont want you to miss your chance to leave an edgy comment 
They really should have had quest markers out before this promotion. People will see no quest markers and dip out after the mount is obtained.
