Looking to watch a plane crash movie for the 1st time. Any suggestion to the movie name?
Not a movie, but there’s a show called ‘Air Disasters’ on the Smithsonian channel that is all about … airplane crashes.
Alive (1993)
Which is a remake of Survive (1976) I believe so you can watch both. The only other movie I can think of about a plane crash specifically is Sully (2016.)
There’s Cast Away (2000).
Or, if you’re looking for something older try The Flight of the Phoenix, a 1965 WWII movie starring Jimmy Stewart. (There was apparently a remake in 2004 that I haven’t seen. I thought the original was OK.)
If you want something more in the romantic comedy vein try Six Days, Seven Nights, an 1998 movie starring Harrison Ford & Anne Heche.
The movies aren’t so much about the crashes themselves but about the survivors trying to stay alive & return to civilization.
Snakes on a Plane is a must
Cast Away is also good
Sully is fabulous
of course you surely HAVE to see Airplane!
"Airport" (1970): Started off the disaster movie trend of the 70’s. It spawned numerous sequels, “Airport 1975”, “Airport '77” and “Airport '79: The Concorde” and all have big name stars. Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, George Kennedy, Jacqueline Bisset, Charlton Heston, Gloria Swanson, Jack Lemmon, James Stewart!, Olivia de Haviland, Christopher Lee, Robert Wagner. Quite a few more. Sure, all of those people are long gone, but they are definitely great figures in Hollywood. They aren’t the greatest movies, but plenty of camp.
It’s not a movie but look up A Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, it’s an old Twilight Zone episode starring pre-Star Trek William Shatner
Umm you should be watching Con Air first, then you might consider some of the others
dont watch on airplane lol
