Plaguefall

So, maybe not a ‘popular’ opinion, but I’ve been doing the questing, all the main and side quests I can and recently picked up a quest that requires the Plaguefall dungeon, and who doggy, does it feel bad to be a healer in this xpac.

So, first dungeon, the Bastion one, it was rough because DPS would pull extra things and split agro, but it was…tolerable (seriously, mass AOE nukes that you can’t interrupt, from trash in one section wtf bliz?)

But Plaguefall…Plaguefall feels AWEFUL.

First boss: stomps, interupts everything, and puts a high dot dispellable on all players, but nope, it can’t be a magic dispel so a holy priest can use mass dispel, nope, it needs the 6 second cooldown single target dispel. And this ability is used alot.

Then comes the second boss, where you have to move around these tiny islands, but the area it’s self is massive, meaning 9/10 times, your tank is going to be oor, and then throw a fit because they couldn’t get heals because they were staying on the boss.

And don’t get me freaking started on the problems having melee dps causes in this one. Seriously, almost all the mobs do close range damage aura’s, and the ground in half the dungeon may as well be lava.

Sorry for the rant, but jesus, I honestly feel like all these dungeons were tuned for people going into shadowlands on super geared toons with high teir nyloth/corrupt gear and maxed Hearts of Azeroth as my ilvl with my priest is 108 from questing gear/crafted gear and I struggle to keep up waaaay to much at times and I’ve NEVER had this problem before with heals (my first 120 back in b4a was restoshamwow for christs sake, and holy is fairly similar with the direct heal game)

healing is fine. There is so much to dispell which is good. you just have to keep on your toes.

5 people are inflicted with the debuff that does rapid, high damage.

Dispel has a 6ish second cooldown when it successfully dispels.

You sill be casting nothing but flash heal all fight as a result which feels bad. If the attack had like a cone of effect that it applied in, sure, that’d be fine, but it’s litteraly: gooboss stomps -> knock back and damage all players -> apply dot to all players

Let me throw down the math on that.

The stomp currently deals 7k hp, that’s roughly HALF my hp bar as a holy preist.
Then, it applies a dot that does 1k every 2 seconds and slows by 30%, this debuff lasts for 20 seconds, so 10 instances of damage, meaning, one stomp, if the debuff isn’t dispeled, deals 17k damage, or in other words, more hp than quite a few folks have.

There is no way to dodge this attack, nor avoid it, you can only take it. If it had a set aoe around him, sure, that’d be fine, but it’s set to just ‘hit all players’ currently.

His dodgable attack deals almost 12k on initial hit and then about 3k per second for six seconds, totaling out to 30k damage if it hits, which, is honestly fine, since it’s telegraphed and has a clearly defined area of affect.

I don’t mind bosses that punish people for not paying attention, or not getting out of the fire as it were. But ‘hits all’ mechanics aren’t fun or challenging, they’re just frustrating/annoying
