Who else plans on making their main, then any potential placeholder toons before starting to play?
Also, anyone planning on using a naming system or just going with a bunch different names?
Who will have time to play when you have 50 names you have to nab as quickly as possible??
I will make my main and all of my alts during the first few minutes. Luckily there aren’t many options and I know exactly how I make each of my characters.
I also have a list of about 10 potential names for each character so I’m not stuck thinking of one should my name be taken already.

What’s the point of this post? I assume to stealth bring up naming characters before the game actually goes live, which seems to be the current topic of choice.
That or to troll the people who do.
Ill make like 4-5 characters with the unique names list I’ve made. After that any characters I make I’ll just worry about them.
First, I am a firm believer that naming should only be allowed once the game goes live.
Second, I was getting tired of posts about 16 people killing Rag in 5 hours (obviously this was a hyperbolic statement.)
Third, I was genuinely curious, as names tend to play into our individual gaming experience in a large way, how people were planning on going about it. Each of my characters were individualized the first time around and the very few alts I made were done over the course of years. I had 1x60 at the end of vanilla, 2x70s at the end of BC and 5x80s at the end of Wrath, etcetera. This time I was thinking about theming right off the bat then settling into playing. No trolling, just curiosity.
Of course. I need to create a Night Elf hunter named Legolas on literally every server.
10 names 5 times each, actually.
I require unique names even across realms in order to properly immerse myself. This is why I plan on grabbing LegoLass01 thru LegoLass50, across 5 different servers.
Arguably, I won’t need to.

Since I won’t be starting to play until about a month in, the names I’ll get will be the names still available in spite of the flood of tourists.

Look at this gal’s name. No one else WANTS it. I make up unique names, or spelling variations that I like, and am more likely to avoid a name that “everyone” will try for.
