Pit of Saron question

I never did this dungeon on WTLK. I think you had to do some sort of quest to get it. I had seen the old youtube guides but they are not too specific on the trash.
The trash up to the last boss is grueling. I think that I was supposed to go for the caster first and interrupt.
I had done it 2 x on this toon and it was difficult for me. Today i joined a group… that already had kicked their first tank. I tank the first 2 bosses and they are down.
On the way to the third boss I died 2 x on the trash before the cave. I was focusing on the caster. I was kicked out of the group. The question is what else needs to be done? I supposed that I messed up, however the healer could not keep me up and I think I took the blame.
Any strategy on that last trash to the last boss?
The tunnel is nasty too and I figured out that you go to the boss in the mid tunnel and then to the cave end… The last boss is not bad.

Any ideas are welcomed.

Thanks.

Back in the day we used to skip this part.

I would tank the plague dummy near the edge near the incline that takes you up the mountin

Once he drops, we all mounted up and rushed to the cave.

It’s still possible I think, however in tw group I doubt you will find a group willing and or competent to do such a thing.

So that’s one way, the other is by using cc and having a dps on each caster to interrupt, or focus one down. Should be atleast one in the group that could trap, banish, repentance sheep ect.

Be wary of the aoe spells the ice mags casts because it can stun you I believe. Tanking this as a warrior I have no issues with leggos, tier 20 and 400 plus ilvl. It’s going to come down to working together to get the right adds downed or cc’d

Oh and btw, if ur running with a DK tell him to control unded on one of them

Keep in mind that this instance came out later in WoTLK, so many of us were pretty geared when we first did it. Interrupts and CC help a lot. The first two pulls have a lot of casters, so interrupt as much as possible. I forget the priority, but any would help. Pummel, spell reflect and shockwave should get you through if you have decent dps. Use your defensive cooldowns here since you won’t need them again until halfway through the gauntlet. Use CC if needed.

The second two pulls consist of two nasty mobs that put some kind of freezing trap on the ground – step out of that and maybe CC one (they are in the back of the pack). The melee skeletons are just cleave soakers.

As with everything else, these pulls are much easier if the mobs are dying quickly and the dps are helping with interrupts. But plan to use defensive cooldowns.

Usually we would pull to the mini-boss halfway through the gauntlet, then pull to the end of the gauntlet. So, basically, two fights in the gauntlet. I would use cooldowns on the mini-boss. I forget what the red beam does on the last boss, but a key thing for you as the tank is to stay out of the ice patches, then kite the boss through them when he is empowered. Don’t face tank him through his enrage unless you overgear it – it is meant to be a kiting phase.

Thanks for the replies. I did it last night again and it want smooth, with only one death going up the hill to the cave. I did use all I got plus interrupts.
I had done all of the timewalks on this toon and they had been easy to do compared to this. The first boss is tough but if you hide behind the boulder you have a strategy. The last 2 bosses are okay. Yes, I did kite the last boss.

Thanks again.

Like the first guy said, when the content was current the best strat was the skip it
