I recently decided to make a pirate-themed toon-- I bought the Dreadwake, I found all of the best pirate transmog items, I was ready to make an awesome new rogue (again, yay…), but I came across something pretty confusing.
I found out that a ton of pirate hats were datamined for BfA, one of these hats perfectly, and I mean PERFECTLY, matching my outfit. It’s called Pirate Flared Tricorne (Red, Military), this is the Wowhead link: https://www.wowhead.com/item=160297/pirate-flared-tricorne-red-military
I was a little disappointed that it was a white item, but I was willing to give up a leather helmet for that awesome hat. But no matter where I looked, I couldn’t find out how to acquire it. Soooooo… HOW TF DO I GET IT?!
There’s a few options for similar hats. Leather azerite drop from dungeons is a pirate hat. Also islands drop Plundered Captains hat thats moggable, also can buy it in auction house if you arent 120. They might not be the exact color you are after but the theme is correct.

It was actually my second choice, but I wanted to know if there was a way to get the tricorne. It matches the transmog better, and also sends the right message. This Azerite circlet is more assassination rogue than outlaw rogue.
Why would those hats show up if not to be available to players? Blizzard always gets my hopes up, it sucks.
Also, the anchor silhouette on the mask looks a little bit like the shape of a cat’s mouth, the hat on top reminds me of Puss In Boots (though not as much as other hats), and the belt I have already looks like a cat head. I don’t wanna get called “The Cat Burglar.”
I understand love, as the aforementioned title is not as suitable for a Worgen. Ideally you wish to aim to be called “the Hound Housebreaker.”
