I would like to always ping the ground, but if someone is almost in the same area, it will always ping the player or NPC. I’d like to see a toggleable option in the settings menu to make my pings only work on the ground no matter if someone is nearby.

Hello!
See, the ping system tattles on you now.
I used to randomly ping the map and make people mad.
You misunderstood his request.
He doesn’t want to turn off pings. You see in that video how when he pings it targets the cow? He wants to turn that part off.
Ok. Don’t do that then.
That would be nice it’s always weird when I ping someone and they ask why and I have to tell them I meant to be pinging where they are standing. Morchie boss for example.
Yeah, the area around a player that eats pings is pretty big, so it’s pretty tough, on the fly, to ping ground nearby
Do you know how to get the ping for “look here”? Cause mines missing that.
I have pings blocked. I’m fully capable of playing at a competitive level without random strangers putting markers all of my screen. It’s also quite funny when tanks try to link me their routes.
Having the ability to quickly communicate with pugs that aren’t in coms is pretty great. But hey, you do you.
“Look Here” is the default setting for pings. If your Ping Mode in the Ping System menu is set to “Quick Ping”, all you should have to do is point to where you’d like the ping to appear and then press G on your keyboard (hold down G for an extended period for more options).
If you press the G key and your cursor turns into a blue diamond with no immediate map ping or chat notification, your Ping Mode may be set to “Relaxed Ping”. This mode allows you to hold down G for a prolonged period of time and ping the map directly with your cursor and left mouse button instead of hovering over an area and using the G key. If you’re using this setting, the “Look Here” notification will only appear in chat once you’ve pointed at the spot on the map that you’d like to ping and clicked on it with your mouse.
