Okay.
The proper rule is Pinaeapple with Pork. Specifically, cured pork, such as bacon, ham, or sausage. Salty cured pork products and pineapple somehow merge into a heavenly combination, but pineapple itself, alone on a pizza-- well, not so much.
Note that pepperoni is not listed. It does not go well with pineapple, probably because it ain’t really meat. (I don’t know what it is, but it ain’t meat.)
The discussion is closed. I so decree it. And my word is… okay, not law, but a really really seriously strong suggestion and you all should listen to it.

Agreed with the fox. Pineapple and ham is THE thing to combine on a pizza. Nothing else. (well, of course the regular sauce and cheese)

Pizza, like all things food, is about balance. If your Tomato sauce is cheap and astringent, then ripe pineapple helps balance that sauce with its sweetness.
If you have a really, really good tomato sauce, then pineapple doesn’t add anything, imo. Tomato sauce made from properly canned San Marzano tomatoes (the cheaper brands pack their San Maraznos in tomato juice of lesser tomatoes) is amazingly balanced.
Every Sunday, we make homemade pizza (including the dough and sauce), and bake them on a 16"d x 3/4"t stone at 425°f. The toppings on mine are:
pepperoni
pineapple
bleu cheese
mushrooms & sun-dried tomatoes, pre-sauteed in red wine
sprinkling of percorino romano cheese (or good Parmesan if unavailable)
topped with mozzarella
This is one of the most savory pizzas you will ever have. Coupled with a strong, dark beer (porter or stout), and you will be in culinary heaven.
