Pickpocket

So disappointed. I only been back a week after few months off and have not found any mobs in Midnight that have pockets. Blizzard killed my favorite farm.

update: Pickpocketing in venom rise in new zone for 1o minutes and got 3 Umbral Tin Lockboxes with 22,23 and 55g in them no other loot yet but PP is back and incase its been awhile

if you want pockets. go to delves. ironically you will find more pockets to pick in instanced content vs the open world.

Oddly enough, stuff in Delves are often marked as humanoid AND have pockets simply to make the content more universally doable for any class or spec… even if those exact same mobs outside of Delves would normally not be humanoid nor have pockets.

But yes, Blizzard have done an incredibly poor job (much of the time) remembering to flesh out opportunities for the Rogue’s unique class fantasy to really shine (namely Pick Pocket, Pick Lock, and Disarm Trap).

Really? Never even crossed my mind in a delve and I don’t know why but thank you I will do that now.

Just watch out cause even though this is true, some delves have anti stealth mechanics anyway.

yeah what ducky said, sometimes there’s elite sentry mobs just so conveniently on top of a pack you can pick pocket. best I can advise is get aggressive with your blind and vanish CDs if pick pocketing is something you truly like to gamba while you chill doing your delves.

blind has a decent range, so you can always try to blind a sentry before they sight you out of stealth. and use a vanish to reset the pack if they engage. iirc blind → vanish wont reset the blind on target.

might be misremembering cause I have personally given up on pickpocketing for now. even if you do get a locked box. which is pretty freaking rare I might add, I still have yet to see anything note worthy drop from them. Ironically you got a better chance just looting the zone loot boxes for one of the decor recipes that are going for for hundreds of thousands of gold, than getting anything from pick pocketing.

which is just sad when you think about it.

I’m just sad I can’t pickpocket the vendors and others in the cities. I would like to recoup some of my gold. lol

This would actually be a fairly hilarious way to let Rogues embrace their class fantasy in the most Rogue-ish way possible.

Come-on, lemme go pilfer some NPCs in the Horde side of Silvermoon…

Yeah I’ve probably pickpocketed over 2000 mobs and I’ve only gotten 3 lock boxes. All containing 50 gold.

Pick pocketing should give decent income with the chance for big time cosmetic gear and toys obtained through pp only. Anything I do for gold feels like a job. I want some flavor.

I’ve been relegated to fishing and I hate it.

I just started pickpocketing yesterday. I had forgotten all about that fun part of being a rogue. I was just out for about 45 minutes and got 2 lock boxes. Just beginners luck I guess, but I’ll be out doing it a lot more now.

I couldn’t upvote this sensible idea enough.

Here’s an idea: let rogues find safes, jewels and other valuables during picking pockets for “home decor.” I wouldn’t mind a pile of gold lying around my house somewhere.

Nothing in them tho?

Gold. I’ll take that. Need to get a little back for all those repairs and stuff.

Update: New zones (at least Naigtal does) have mobs with pockets After an hour it’s been all silver and vendor trash. 30 silver on average and all trash is just under one gold. Hoping to see something rare.

I have a suspicion that a senior dev is vindictive a hpriest main that got dunked on one too many times by a rogue in arena

Thanks for the research and updates.

They simply don’t get it though. And never will.

The intellectual property and brand is too far gone from virtual world into theme park.

Now you really upset her and bam there goes sap next trim. Now that I’m thinking about it, prolly what the emergency maintenance is for.

lmao

Blizz needs to realize blue hair irl is fine for doing stuff like housing or monthly appearance collections

But when it comes down to the nitty gritty, you want chuds and robots to take the lead on designing classes. There is no other way.

New zones are not really meant for exploration as they are catch up mechanisms for new and returning players to gear up. That is how it has worked traditionally since DF and maybe even before aka systmelands where these areas are just catch up gearing areas.

Opportunity for pick pocketing is often with main continent questing at the start of new expansions. Just my opinion.

Your opinion sucks. You just make excuses for the multi billion dollar company to be lazy.

As if remembering to have mobs with pockets is a ton of extra and unreasonable labor.
