I’m wanting a roll a new warlock to level and not sure what race to pick. Aside from lvling and lfr raids I plan on doing some bg pvp at 60. I also plan to do all the class hall stuff for the mount and transmogs.

Obviously a Void Elf. No pushback during casts while taking damage.

I second this. And aesthetically you can make them look Darkfallen, High Elf, or Void Elf. The no pushback for spells and half-off on mogging are great!

Human.
Yes. It’s basic.
But just do yourself a favor and make a level 1 human warlock, open up the appearance tab, and look at how much better virtually every single set looks.
Some examples:
The Dragon Soul set. On everything but Human, it’s hideous. Why? The Shoulders are absurdly far away from the actual body. You could fit a Dwarf in the gap. This issue is common on several sets.
Another issue other races suffer from, bubble head. The Ulduar Lock set and Season 1 / Gruuls Lair set look like the head is a bubble. It looks perfect on Human.
Alternatively, Gnome.
Seriously. Gnome Locks are classic. I say this as someone who has no interest in playing a Gnome.

Void elf, go for the void looks, suits a warlock appearance wise nicely. They also half no spell push back and a port racial, as well as occasionally getting coated with void for extra dps.
Humans is also a good choice. Their racials for pvp is pretty good, we essentially get a free pvp trinket from the racial which can work in some pve stuff too. The human spirit is one of the best passive racial in the game as well.
Dark irons is also a solid choice too.

IMO, Worgen, just weirdly fitting to me, and that they have a racial movement speed boost that Warlocks often will need but otherwise it typically is between Dark Iron Dwarves and Void Elves because further and sensible combination.

If you are planning to pvp, go human. 3 min stun removal racial means you can use the 20% CC reduced duration trinket. That’s a big deal on long CCs and a big deal on ramping up DR effectiveness.

I think void elves are the coolest choice.
There are (now) 13 races, and 13 classes.
One of each. My ocd demands it!

Void Elf because they look the best and if you look good, you play good.

Be a dark horse and go gnome. This isn’t classic, spell pushback isn’t anywhere near the annoyance it used to be.
Also gnome warlocks are cool.
