I’m wanting to try my hand at monk tanking and wasn’t sure what race to pick for it. I’m also doing skinning and leather work if that makes a difference

My two cents: Thematically Dwarven Brewmasters sounds great. I would go Classic Fem Draenei for the aesthetic for alliance. Classic Orc or Belf for Horde depending if you prefer a strong aesthetic or a lithe one, respectively.
Vulpera make for cool monks, too.
All this is purely aesthetic which is obviously subjective.

Nose for trouble is pretty good for dungeons.
Stoneform is, of course, unparalleled in being by far the most powerful racial in the game.

The obvious choice is Pandaren. Dwarf seems fitting as well. For horde, a Tauren would look good.

The Tauren Monk animations are… not great. IMHO

Panda for pure theme as monk is heavily tied to pandas still.
Nelf/dwarf if you want to be a meta nerd on alliance I guess
Kul tiran if you want to be a Drunken sailor with a knockback punch

Worgen get advantage skinning, I believe. And they recently got monk added to their classes. Go claw at them bosses!

I’ve tried other races for monk and it is fun, but I gotta say, I’m really having fun on my panda<3
My BM monk is a KT, with the Brewmaster title and he always has alcohol in his bags to chug a few before battle, but I think Pandaren and Dwarf would fit the theme very well also.
A lot of good options but.
Night Elf is the best, especially if you ever play WW because the Fist of Fury still leaves you stuck in combat for awhile after it ends and you can occasionally negate that
I would rate dwarves (either one)/and mechagnomes as tied for second best, especially for tanking. Dwarves get the bleed cleanse which is always huge and mechagnomes get Emergency Failsafe that automatically heals you for 15% of your total HP as soon as you life drops to 20%…it has saved me so many time
