Picking a class for classic!?

Hey guys! Trying to decide what to main and alt for classic, thinking priest main hunter alt, choices are druid or priest main and a hunter lock or possibly a rogue alt, for all aspects of the game but a heavy pvp focus. what would you guys say? And what are you rolling :)?

Priest main is a great shout, excellent leveler, excellent at pvp and pve, in demand for groups for both and you get the awesome Anthema to work towards.

Can also make good extra money 2 manning or aoe farmong lashes when dire maul is released.

The roll whatever alt you feel at the time.

Yea the hunter alt was the main reason for farming / pvp, priest is my all around other toon which is great like you said Anthema is a huge nostalgic throw back for me + the hunter weapons wanna get both haha

I’m struggling to decide between Warlock or Shaman. They are my favorite classes. Both have great class quests, lore, and bring something to all parts of the game.

I will have a bank alt, and his class will probably be warrior.

Tbh if you can take the time to get both to 60 youll have time with how long itll be until raid content starts rolling pvp also

1v1 wise shadow priest.
Overall WPVP fun wise Druid.
Hunter is amazing for WPVP btw.

BG wise it depends. Priest will be damaging or healing while druid will likely be FCing/healing.

I will say it might help to lead with Hunter or Druid first. Both classes excel at leveling. You could then use their influence as somewhat higher level characters (20s-30s) to assist your priest in a better start like having more cloth or gear to assist in speeding up the leveling process etc.
While not a direct answer, this information should help you lean in the proper direction.

Yea I get what you’re saying  I’m planning on leveling the priest with a friend at first and the hunter on my own time, just to get both a little decent start then go ham on one and level the other as whatever fits. Yea priest bgs/1v1 is great and the hunter for farming / wpvp / bgs etc.

Well everyone should go with what feels right to them.

I am personally going Druid main and support it with a hunter alt for money and resource grinding. And likely a secondary mage alt for extra professions and I can also park it somewhere else in the world for more efficient farming.

Yea I get that, I was set on a druid but I like feeling offensive or a great team support, which druids can be, just lack the offensive parts :frowning:

I’m struggling between Troll Mage or Orc Warlock for Horde, but settled on Dwarf Hunter for Alliance. Probably going to have a Tauren Druid as a Horde alt, not sure about an Alliance alt if I have one at all. Having a backup for raids on one faction is one thing but having to balance two guilds across two factions is going to be far too much so I’ll likely raid as Horde and just have my Dwarf to fill that Hunter need, since they’re generally unwanted in Raids outside of one for Tranq Shot.

I guess Tauren Hunter is an option too.

Hnnngh

Druids could be crazy offensive in Classic, you just have to know how to equip and use them.

Way I see it, Classic is going to be a permanent form of vanilla so I fully intend to have T3 geared characters on both factions eventually. To start I’ll have a Tauren Shaman (main) and Undead Mage (alt), though.

Yea, I know there are some cases they can be, but playing vs equally geared people its hard :(.

I still have no idea what I’m rolling, and with the wealth of great buffs available to Paladins I’m not even still sure that the “something that can use Atiesh” limit will last much longer. I also strangely enjoyed the old Hunter mechanics of having to actually take care of the pet… Classic seriously can’t come soon enough because I swear if I start seriously thinking about rolling a Warrior I’ll know things have gone too far.

In terms of Druid vs Priest main, Druid has great travel options with Cat and Travel forms. Not sure how Druid combat is past 20, but with a Priest it’s fairly consistent.

Warlocks have quests for every pet, whereas Hunters have one quest to unlock the ability to tame many pets, so will demand more time. Nothing says “Bank Alt” like a well-dressed character with a Succubus, though.

Yea for sure  I have experience with classic druid just don’t know if I want to go through and have to play at ahigh caliber constantly to shine or whatever, where as a priest can you play high caliber or casual and still do well and yea I 100% agree I love hunter mechanics. If I make priest/hunter my first two slowly im going to level a druid or lock as my third. more than likely a druid since itll be fast to gear by that point. But its all up in the air still I have problems  lol

I’m going to be rolling a shaman myself, I actually mained Hunter since I started so I wanted a different experience this time. I like feeling helpful and shaman has some nice utility and healing, combod with pvp offensive ele/resto and burst. I also want to experience raiding this time too so I figured healing was my best bet.

I agree with you though that Hunter is fun, I know i’m probably still going to have one as a pvp alt.

Cuz… ya know… capslock…

ALL OF THEM. ALL THE CLASSES. PLAY EVERYTHING.

Oh yea shamans a great bet for that  will be competition for gear since so many will be taken to raids but youll be loved all around.

I’ll friggin do it. I swear. I’m an alt-o-hol.

Still debating between Resto sham or Enhance Sham, Enhance looks super fun but I usually gravitate towards healing in most games where healing is a class option.

Key is choose a class that looks the funnest and go for it

Druids and locks are great in pvp.
