Can anyone confirm if the beta has the correct value for pick pocket? The amount of copper I was getting from pick pocketing in beta was around 2-5 copper and that seems very low.
Thats about right, pick pocketing was literally stealing lunch money from mobs, I think there was silver in lockboxes you picked though but my memories of vanilla rogues is ‘very’ fuzzy.
The junk grey items u get are worth the money not the pick pocket itself.
I recall that being right for pick pocket. Most pockets were used for leveling to later make gold later to open lock boxes. I used to sit in SW and pick locks or have regular customers who would mail to me with gold to open. So yes picking pockets didn’t gain much gold just fun for stealing
You can make good gold at pickpocket. Not sure what the values would be like on actual classic. But on Northdale, I knew a rogue that made 900g in 2 days pickpocketing mobs in SM and then killing them. He said he was making about 40-50g per hour doing this. Pretty sure he said most of the junk items u get sell for about 40 silver each.
pickpocket in vanilla was never about making lots of money.
heck you’re lucky to be getting copper.
Mostly it’s “lint” at lower levels.
Pickpocketing becomes profitable at much higher levels and picking mobs in dungeons.
I had seen 10-50 copper on ptr videos. 2-5 copper in comparison seems really low. That was a video of someone on a private server though. So the claims in the videos of pick pocketing 50g an hour in BRD should also be false.
private servers are their best attempts at recreating vanilla. it wasn’t like they had a reference server to pull data values from. so it’s not realistic to compare private servers to vanilla. pickpocketing mobs in vanilla was considerably less than what they would drop if you killed them. the higher the level, the more you would be able to get, but rogues made most of their profit from opening lockboxes for other people since rogues were the only ones who would be able to lockpick them. i think in alpha mages had an unlock spell but they removed it
