Physical Copy

I know it is early, but let’s hypothetically think the new Xpac will go live in October, when would Blizzard or (Gamestop, Best Buy, Target, etc.) take orders for the physical copy?

I am thinking Blizzard is running late on the expansion and we might have to wait until next year…

They gave a date of the last day of 2020, they have to release it by that date, regardless of the progress.

Edit: posted on phone fixing errors

They did the same with Warcraft Reforged…and now it will release in 6 days. I think they should use that date as a placeholder, not as a promised date.

Statement: this is false. I can name numerous games with 2017/2018 release dates that came out in 2019 or have yet to release yet. Please do not spread false information. As long as the pushback is announced to all channels there would be no issues.

This is not true. Warcraft Reforged had a release date of 12/31/19. It’s (allegedly) coming out next week.

That is what I also said. If I am in the business admin or marketing department, I would have it as a disclaimer “The expected release day will be on or before 12/31/2020. Subject to change” and drop it.

Most companies would do something similar for fear of a retribution (namely a lawsuit). Blizzard should just have someone polish the language and that should be the end of it.

By the way, giving a date doesn’t mean that day is when it will be active. It’s more like a placeholder. That date can change.
