Phoenix Bindings display price bug. Contact Blizzard about it

Until Blizzard fixes the bug we should contact Hacks@Blizzard.com. Email them about the nature of the bug, which is the UI lists the vendor price as 40s, and accounts selling Phoenix Bindings for 38s or less to scam people sniping auctions below the vendor price. This is severely damaging for the entire Phoenix Bindings market, and has created a flood of excess supply in the process.

This is really a simple fix. Most likely someone just put a typo in a sql database, (or whatever database WoW uses) and Blizzard has not taken the five minutes to fix the typo. Until that happens we can just report these people for exploiting, and notify Hacks@Blizzard.com of which accounts are exploiting the bug.

Whenever Blizzard fixes this they’ll most likely ban everyone taking advantage of the exploit. Let’s make their job easier by notifying them of the issue. The more vocal we are the more likely this is to be fixed sooner rather than later.

So there’s a tooltip bug and your solution is to waste the hack department’s time by spamming them with emails?

Ok karen.

I love playing on some backwater server. phoenix bindings bounces from 1g-3g.

The people taking advantage of the bug are exploiting the game. They should have their accounts deleted, and Blizzard needs to fix the bug.

Why do you think the people selling them are exploiting anything? Why are you so hurt?

If you want to waste your time and fill up the wrong inboxes, you can follow your advice, I guess.

Sounds like subby is running some sort of AH scam to me.

Hacks@blizzard.com is the right inbox. They’re intentionally listing large amounts of bracers below the bugged vendor price to con users into buying them, and trying to sell them. They should all have their accounts deleted and ip address banned from the game.

Yeah. Okay. Sure thing, pal. Good luck, have fun I guess.

Why don’t you simply report it as a bug and be done with it?

It has been reported as a bug, and Blizzard has done nothing. Most likely with the Microsoft job cuts they’re understaffed. So, everyone impacted by the bug needs to mass report it to get them to do anything.

How much did you lose, OP. Spill it.

Won’t somebody please think of the auction hall snipers?

Not much at all. It is an issue that needs to be fixed. They’re screwing with my profit margins on Phoenix Bindings, and are scamming a bunch of players. They’re putting up about 50 bracers at a time relying on someone new to the market not knowing about the bug to buy them. They are exploiting a UI bug, and need to have their accounts deleted for it.

No, they aren’t.

Your bindings are listed above market price.

You’re not guaranteed a profit.

Yes, they are. The only reason they’re listing fifty at a time is to catch someone who is not aware of the bug buying them all to vendor them. You cannot move fifty within a twenty four hour period for players actually using them. At best two to four per hour. More likely four to six in an eight hour period.

Lol

They ARE the market price.

It’s a low priority issue, it might not get worked for several months at best, do you actually expect them to drop everything to fix a minor issue where a vendor price is showing up a few silver less then it should, its also possible that the issue also might even be caused by an add-on, meaning they could do nothing.

Mass reporting it will do nothing other then remove resources from other things, it will not make the issue get addressed any sooner, bugs do not get priority based on the number of open reports, but based on actual impact and severity of issue.

It’s not addon related. We’ve already checked.

Mass reporting will not take away resources from other issues. At the most a manager is going to make some low level salaried engineer work an extra hour over the weekend to get the issue fixed. It would not even cost Microsoft an extra dime, and they’d be improving value for their customers for very little effort. The guy that does it would probably add his name to the consideration for promotion since he did work upper level management cared about since they kept getting notified about it by irate customers.

And the UI bug has been fixed. Now, everyone selling for 38s or less no longer has listings. Price has gone back up to my sell range, and supply has returned to the range legitimate sellers maintained. everyone selling for 38s or less should have their accounts deleted for exploiting the game.
