Phasing/ layering needs to GO

Well it’s happened enough it’s time for a QQ post.

Everything is cleared out, head into the trogg cave, attack first mob, halfway through the fight I get phased in to another layer (I guess) and it’s completely populated by mobs.

So now it’s turned into a 3 on one, I hit sprint and run back outside, and to my horror EVERYTHING is outside as well.

It’s like there hasn’t been a soul there at all.

Dead, not cool.

This needs to stop, we didn’t have it back in the day and it’s freakin obnoxious to the point of when it happens you just take the debuff on the rez and log the FK out.

I think they need to add more layering. Haven’t got to experience it yet.

If layering wasn’t in place, no one would be able to do anything. Necessary evil until the populations even out

unrelated to layering

Blizzard already talked about this. Squashing layers requires realm restarts and they will do them as they need to.

This sounds like an error with Layering at best.

At current it’s not supposed to change your layer unless you’ve joined (or maybe left) a group. It won’t do so while you’re in combat, and it gives some time to loot.

Is it possible that you cleared everything while in a group, or joined a group after the fact, and then the grace period ended and you got layered as you’re supposed to?

The mobs respawned and you died.

That’s not layering. That’s the server respawning mobs. Mobs are respawning in groups for some reason.

Repops with this many players online are brutal. If you have to go into a cave, form a group with others.

It’s about time somebody cried about layering!

This sounds like an issue with respawn rates being high because of a heavily populated zone. It happens all the time and ya just have to move on lol.

That’s not layering though. That’s just fast respawning, and I’ve experienced it myself in cleared-out caves.

Layering in Classic never switches you to another layer unless you logout entirely or join a group with someone who is already in a different layer. It doesn’t work like sharding does in Retail where you’re bounced around like a ping pong ball between zone shards (which I don’t like).
