Unable to complete the quest "Cultural Significance because Joseph Furlong wants to phase out when I get close to him.

This was a persistent bug in Beta. Try sneaking up on him and tapping him while he’s still visible. I was able to complete that part by doing that… GL

Stay off the stairs and come at him from the side, near Jovani Gartside. He should phase back in and you can complete the quest.

This was an issue for quite a while in beta. I guess they re-broke it with another patch. Getting tired of all the bugs.

Happening here too – sort of ridiculous seeing this bug report going back to last August in various threads.

talking to him from the side worked, this is really annoying that its phased like this though.
Did blizzard outsource their development to a company in India that also doubles as a call center for cheap support?

Bugged again - was bugged in beta. Please report if you cannot get close to Joseph without him disappearing. If you are VERY quick, you can get close and click twice (once to talk with him and once to click on asking about the herbs) before he disappears. I wish they’d FIX these bugs.

and it’s still bugged. I play with enough lag that I can’t go in and be quick and click twice and stand on my head or whatever the work around is.

It’s absurd that a bug this bad made it thru beta and is existing on live servers.

The phasing WAS an issue in beta and was fixed before BFA was released. This is a slightly different bug because before, all 3 NPCs were inaccessible. And I agree the lag is incredible now. Not quite dial-up, but the jerkiness is a real problem, especially in battles.

Can confirm still a phasing issue. Seemed to finally get it when I came up on the side that Jovani is on.

Also had this problem. Seems Blizzard doesn’t do bug fixing anymore. There are quite a few persistent bugs they either can’t or won’t fix. In any case, I was able to squeeze in the side and get him to stay put.

It was really confusing because Flynn is also a part of this and he was absent altogether due to another bug where you have to trigger the Tirigard zone quests to get Flynn to appear. Not sure bug is the right word for that one… more like no-one thought about what they were doing when they designed this garbage.

This worked! I kept inching closer on the stairs… for a week. Then I saw this response to approach from the side. It worked. I stood behind Jovani and completed the quest. Thank you thank you. :slight_smile: NPM! :slight_smile:

Just a note – it finally did work for me a few days ago and I din’t need to do anything tricky. So must’ve finally fixed the bug, at least for this week.
