Phasing destroys comunity

I have seen multiple people in here saying..

"Whats wrong with phasing, i like phasing"

I get you played on a low pop server, and it made the game feel alive again, but in 2004 leveling up there were almost no low pop servers.

People knew each other on their server.

If you are a jerk in a group, word will spread and you will not find groups.

If someone kills you, you can log on an alt and come back and kill them, or organize a group, in phasing you can't do that.

PHASING HELPED WOW GO FROM A COMMUNITY GAME, TO A GAME OF RANDOM PEOPLE ALL WORKING ALONE AND ONCE IN A WHILE INSULTING EACH OTHER.

Phasing is a no go for me, that is one of my red lines.

You didn’t see phasing you saw loading lines. No stream has shown two people in one location that could not see each other
There is literally nothing wrong with phasing

I am quoting you just so I can preserve this statement of yours.

I hope you are being sarcastic, cause else....lmao
Let's be clear here with our terms.

"Phasing" happens when too many people are in a zone, and some of them are moved to another zone so that the server doesn't choke.

"CRZ" is when they bring everybody and their uncles from all realms into your realm (so many in fact that they usually need to phase people immediately afterwards).

I'm not a fan of phasing, and I hope that Blizzard updates their server code so that it's not necessary. With any luck, outside of the initial leveling rush, we'll never encounter it. Given a choice between phasing and a server crash, I'll grudgingly take the phasing.

CRZ on the other hand has no place in WoW and is one of the single most destructive additions to the game in all of WoW's history. If CRZ is present, then Blizzard can take the game and shove it.
I get it. I don't want it. HOWEVER, they have what 20 servers? How many people are crashing into those servers right now? Imagine if there were no phasing. You would NEVER get a quest done. I would have liked for them to say something but its blizzard.
Anything that involves you not interacting with your server and your server alone is not Vanilla.

The community destroys itself.

Battlegroups started segregating themselves such that some had high winrates for a single faction.

Servers started experiencing massive population imbalances.

There was no way to stop this, even if they prevented transfers, because people could just make characters wherever they want.

My server went from mid-pop to almost dead because a few of the main raid guilds left, which cascaded. Many good acquaintances left to pursue other ventures.

You can't just throw a server in the garbage when the community borks itself. You have to fix it and the only way to fix it is to force people to get along.

People considered winrates and purples to be more important than friends and community. They have spoken and it caused the people in charge of structure to have to take drastic measures.

Because of mob spawn times, overpopulation is not an option.

How would you suggest fixing all of this?

That's not phasing, that's sharding. And it's bad for an open world MMO.

Incorrect, there is a stream from the demo today. Guy dueling, accepts group invite mid duel, gets trasnfered to new shard instantly. Everyone around him disappears, duel suddenly over, gg
No phasing!!!

Not on the first day, not in the first zone, not in any zone on any day.

Can't believe blizzard is being this !@#$ing stupid.

Honestly, I would be OK with sharding/phasing or whatever you want to call it for the first couple of weeks. It would suck being stuck in a 15,000 player queue.
lol @ acting like that'll actually happen

100% Blizzard rolls out name changes and realm changes.
If the classic servers are phased in zones I won't be re-subbing. There has to be no cross realm tech in classic servers except for battlegrounds where during that time it existed. Anything else is a deal breaker and I'm not re-upping my sub.
