This has been a problem for the past month when grouping with anyone. Randomly someone will get phased from the group making world questing impossible. Sometimes when in a group for a long time, someone will randomly break phase and shift back, most times they won’t shift back.
Relogging does not fix it.
Restarting does not fix it.
Reforming group does not fix it.
Entering an instance, you can see the others, but as soon as you leave, you are sent back to the wrong layer once again.
For me, this seems to happen most frequently when someone has logged in on a different layer from the party leader and when traversing different parts of the world (Outland to Eastern Kingdoms, to Kalimdor, etc) it first sends you to your original log in layer then dings you for a layer swap cooldown. Sometimes you’ll swap back fast, then after a few continent swaps, you’re stuck.
This has made partying with real life friends impossible and killed entire nights worth of planned gaming for over a month now.

This has made Rare Farming extremely tedious. Please fix phasing away from your party members not a thing… We were all on the same layer, one of us tagged Loque and now only the person holding the tag can get him.
EDIT: So this was really dumb, but what we did to fix it was force everyone to log over to alts (other than the person who had the tag and made lead) and then after about 30-40 seconds everyone phased over to the right layer.
EDIT2: To any poor soul reading this, it appears as though you can force your layer to swap to a random one in Northrend by logging to an alt in the old world zones and then back.
