With the confirmation of a phase 8 and scarlet raid and the addition of KC I’ve heard a lot more discussion about what will be added or what can be put into SoD in phase 9 (or onward?). While I’m hesitant to push for a SoD TBC I can’t help but keep thinking about the amount of raid assets that are on the Azeroth Map from it that could be retrofitted to level 60.
- Considering much of the player base is exalted Anachronos could open the Caverns of Time (actual fun version of hyjal hype?).
- Zul’Mashar in EPL could have a path to Zul’Aman (to avoid Ghostlands map conflict)
- Karazhan, it’s right there, perfectly plated for the SoD 10man dynamic
Or, if we are shifting over to original content like the Scarlet raid and KC:
- Some sort of resolution to the ongoing and oft neglected Shadowy Figures and Secret Agents storyline that has been the backdrop of SOD as a whole.
- Timbermaw Hold 5 man (Wave defense??)
- Alcaz Island/Properly finishing the Missing Diplomat Chain, maybe not a 20man worth of content but opportunity to use SoD to finally put this story link in game.
- Undying Laborer World Boss
While there is certainly a limit of scope on what they have cause to do with SoD content Im excited that we are finally getting to the question of “What comes after Naxx?”

If it’s me I am putting SoD on ice after Phase 8 and starting development on the Classic+ expansion pack.
Time to make some money off of all the learnings gathered from SoD.

Pretty sure they’d still be High Elves at this point. I think TBC is suppose to take place a few years after the Vanilla timeline. So, I don’t think Kale (:p) has returned yet; thus the method for Fel absorption isn’t known.
I would probably opt them to be a Neutral faction like the Pandarian were, and let the player decide which side to join. -Blood Elves join the Horde at the petition of Slyvanas according to the lore, so it stands to reason she’d still act as an advocate for High Elves. Which might be ‘disgruntled’ at being abandoned (in their eyes) by the Alliance during DK-Arthas’s march.
So the blood elves became the blood elves during the events of Warcraft 3 the frozen throne. This was before years before tbc

This pretty much. Except I would probably expect some more content from sod beyond phase 8 (maybe like up to phase 10 before content stops being added) There’s still some cool stuff to explore, like Hyjal, uldum, etc, the long awaited dwarf shamans and tauren paladins, high elves maybe?
When fresh era hits tbc then give sod players the option to transfer their toons to tbc era or stay on sod with no more content being added. From which point would be when a new version of classic+ would be announced and maybe put on the PTR for testing.
Honestly don’t remember how far FT took the story. Thought it ended with Silvermoon falling, and the High Elf ‘empire’ being left in ruins with Kael starting to pick up the pieces. I had thought he discovered the Fel energy substitute through his alignment with Illidan.
not holding my breath on anything new past phase 8 since they’ve teased absolutely nothing about past that point except being coy about permanent servers.
I expect an announcement of a new season in quarter 3 or 4 once they are past TBC/MOP launches.

A patch with Hyjal as a raid and Grim Batol as a dungeon makes a lot of sense to me based on the Kara attunement kind of teasing those locations. We’ll see though.

They became blood elves after the sunwell was destroyed.
Ya, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t instantaneous. I think there was a few years where they were basically SOL. And then, at some point, they turned to Fel Energy to replace the Arcane Energy that the well had provided.
And I thought it was after Kael returned (from Outlands?). But maybe it was before that and him going after demons is what brought him into contact with Illidan.
…been awhile since I’ve gotten lost in the WoW Wiki.
Kael’s wiki page leaves it open to when they started siphoning Fel energy. But it looks like it didn’t start until after Kael’s sent Rommath back.
Either way, since there’s High Elf NPCs all over the place still. I’d rather see High Elves introduced.
…though, loooord, I hope they use updated models! xD

I want to play a horde paladin. Whatever theyve been waiting for to drive hype (because im not buying the whole “server limitations” BS) let it come swiftly.

No need to use the wiki, the human campaign(wc3 tft) in the first mission you are working under garathros(however you spell it) and Kael says we are blood elves. Before he aligns with Ilidan and vashj
I vaguely remember him being arrested, but thought he was still considered a ‘High Elf’.
Though, watching that video Robo linked. I suppose they could still give us High Elves (finally), and spin it that the Blood Elves (being Kael loyalists at this point) left with him to Outlands, and those remaining are those that didn’t side with him. - I’d rather keep as much of TBC out of SoD as possible, since there’s no point in replaying the same set of expansions for a 3rd time.
