Phase 4 and pre-raid gearing

Let us first address the fact that Blizzard and the streamers have trolled you into believing that two five-man heroic dungeons constitute a phase. But that is a topic for anther post.

Now blizzard did say this

what could this statement mean for WoW cata classic LFR loot distrobustion? “We’re preparing alternative avenues for players to acquire those rewards, whether or not they participate in the other difficulties of the raid.”

This statement suggests that Blizzard is considering different methods for players to obtain LFR gear. Even if they don’t participate in the LFR mode itself. Here are a few potential implications for loot distribution:

  • Alternative Content: Blizzard might introduce new content or activities that allow players to earn LFR-equivalent rewards. This could include special quests, world events, or additional dungeons that provide LFR gear.
  • Currency System: Players might be able to earn a specific currency through various in-game activities such as Inferno 2.0’s, Raiding or other ideas, which can then be used to purchase LFR gear. This would provide flexibility in how players acquire the rewards.
  • Boss Drops: Inferno 2.0 bosses now drop LFR gear giving players multiple avenues to obtain the desired items without strictly relying on LFR.
  • Vendor Options: Blizzard could introduce vendors that sell LFR gear for a combination of currencies or tokens earned from different types of content, ensuring that players have multiple ways to gear up.

These are merely suggestions derived from my personal perspective on Blizzard’s previous actions. Blizzard may implement one of these options, a combination of them, or none at all. So take them as you will.

Now lets address the Inferno 2.0 loot vendor. Again this is my opinion and is not fact.

  • Normal Fireland Weapons:

  • Blizzard will likely release the normal Fireland weapons on the vendor.

  • Heroic Weapons:

  • Blizzard will probably not release the heroic weapons on the vendor.

  • Heroic Ragnaros loot is also unlikely to be available on the vendor.

  • Firestones:

  • Firestones dropping off the last boss in Inferno 2.0 is unlikely.

  • Most players only need one or two firestones to upgrade certain pieces.

  • Firestones will likely be available on the vendor for 15-30 of the new currency.

  • Players will still need the base item and firestone to upgrade the item to heroic quality.

  • Vendor Availability:

  • Normal Firelands weapons (No Heroic weapons just like they did with T11 raid gear)

  • Loot off the first 6 Heroic raid bosses (No rag loot)

  • Bags for those specific items that have random stat rolls.
