Phase 3 feels like a Gold Farm Simulator

A lot of people I play with are quitting and I’m slowly coming to that conclusion, I’m bored. Everything is about farming gold. It was before, but it never felt like this. No one wants to PvP, the incentives aren’t there this phase. Why don’t you add gold incentives to PvP?

I remember in posts prior back that the SoD team views “gold sinks” as a good thing and will continue pursuing content based around gold. If PvP gave substantial gold, whether through BGs or a PvP event or a PvP type of incursion, I could see my interest renew. But as it stands now, I’m just extremely bored and i’ve become disinterested in the game.

This isn’t an angry omg blizz imma quit post, but rather I’m just reporting what I’m seeing from other players and how I feel about that game as it stands in Phase 3.

pretty much agree

why cant pvp give high gold rewards. why is PvE the only source of high gold rewards

does make sense. alot of people are addicted to reward chemicals, and gold pretty much provides that reward feeling right now. and PvP rewards none of that feeling

does make sense. PvP should be a gold farming option as well

add high gold rewards to BGs. but then add more gold sinks. maybe powerful flasks that are straight up at a vendor and cost a bunch of gold and only work in BGs

Everyone tells me this isn’t the case and the economy is fine in SoD, but I quit for the same reason :man_shrugging:t2:

there’s a portion of the playerbase that freaks out at any idea of PvP giving gold. The Sod Team seems to listen to them, for whatever reason I’m not sure.

bots.

the reason is bots in bg’s farming gold.

not really, that doesn’t make sense. If you tie gold to winning/good performance, how would that be the case? Plus, you can bot incursions probably. You can bot PvE farming right now.

because if you win roughly half of your games, more games played equals more games won.

bots can play 24/7. humans can’t.

which part are you struggling with? we can work through it reaaaaaally slowly, so you get it.

We did all our PvP for rewards in p2.

what? bots won’t win BGs.

I noticed I sense a lot of the anti PvP players are just bad in PvP and dislike PvP avenues to attain valuable stuff because they can’t compete.

darn thats a good reason

but i think i got a solution to that

make 1-5man-Q ranked BGs and put gold rewards in ranked BGs only. and so you get more gold when you win. and thus all the bots would eventually go down to the lowest ranks, so anyone slightly above bot skill level would play with other humans that are ranked higher than bots

then make the gold rewards about equal to farming gold outside, so in the end bots farming gold in PvE or PvP rewards the same gold amount so who cares in the end if bots are farming gold in low rank BGs or outside

let’s slow down more.

one player can run multiple bots at the same time.

sometimes he even gets multiple bots going against each other…

and WoW is … the most carebear MMO out there. When we say we “lost” a bg, what do we mean? did currency leave our inventory and transfer to the enemy inventory? No. In reality, we lost nothing. we were actually rewarded a little bit for losing. So bots, winning or … winning less (since we established WoW has no “losing”), all adds up across many instances across many games across 24/7.

resulting in income generated out of thin air. regardless of performance.

Glad I could answer this for you.
It’s important to understand this material.

This is literally all hypothetical yapping, i understand you don’t like the idea of PvP

citation needed.

agree but bots farming instances or the open world is also income generated from nothing

i think its less about “can bots generate gold from nothihng”

and more about i think the issue is blizzard doesnt want casual pvpers to see bots in their pvp games and then lose enjoyment from feeling like they are just surrounded by bots and not fighting real humans

bots outside of PvP keeps bots in areas where people cant see them

if people saw bots in every PvP BG then people would get bored fast

it’s absolutely a factor. wotlk forums complained about bots in bg’s endlessly for months.

Good thing there isn’t other content that bots can run on a continuous loop for crazy amounts of gold (ahem… incursions).

This argument is irrelevant and incursions makes it invalid, because they’re way too lucrative and set up like a bots wet dream.

yup

my idea of having gold be in soloQ ranked BGs sorta fixes this because then bots would only be in low ranked games. because theres equal gold per win meaning low ranked and high ranked give equal gold, meaning theres no incentive to create strong bots that win games since everyone has a 50% winrate anyway and if you created stronger bots they would just rank up and fight humans then start losing. so in reality dumb bots would make just as much gold as a stronger bot

so in my idea all the bots would be in the lowest ranked games since theres no greater gold rewards for creating a stronger bot. since top ranked and low ranked players would make equal gold per win or loss.

and so in my idea anyone with skill level above autism would be in games with no bots

I’d love to see ELO in bg’s.

So should we just shut down the entire game then? Because bots are always going to find some way of farming gold. Better shut it all down so the bots can’t farm, right?
