I don’t know about you but I have seen a serious drop off of players. MUCH MUCH quicker than when classic launched. I mean classic 1-60 took way longer than 60-70 for sure. And gearing took way longer as well.
But for TBC you gear up relatively fast, even if you aren’t BIS, you have items that at least work. But I think one of the big things is that there really is only 1 real raid… that being Kara. Gruul and Mag I don’t think many consider them major raids.
Tier 5 or phase 2 for TBC at least brings 3 more raids, which will give people a lot of things to do. I dunno what the time frame is for Tier 5 but I am hoping it comes sooner than later. They said “some changes” for TBC, so I suggest one change be a quicker release schedule on the patch updates… or at least the first one anyway.
EDIT: Most of the responses are respectable… however I think many have got the impression that I am asking for phase 2 like tomorrow or next week… not at all. I’m just hoping we aren’t waiting until like the end of the winter for it. That’s all.

No, this isn’t a racing game. Slow down, go play another game or get some chores done or something.

who said anything about a race, if you haven’t seen a drop off in players then you are just blind or ignoring it

The drop off is because it was a new expansion launch. Tens of thousands of tourists were checking it out, and quit because they don’t actually like it.
Rushing out new content only makes the experience worse for players actually playing the game in an attempt to bring back players who are going to quit a week after P2 is released.

My guild is still seeing some hit 70.
Yes, some of us hit 70 in 4 days (or less lol) but not everyone has hit every single lockout.

I can’t say I shed any tears when tourists and meta racers quit.

Our guild runs 5/6 Kara’s a week and runs 2 full 25 man raids currently. We have zero trouble filling raids or finding people to complete content. I have not seen this ‘drop off’ of players, however, I play on one of the more populated servers.

Truth in this however vanilla tbc actually launched with SSC and TK available at launch

I hadn’t seen a drop off in players. Seems like players at lvl 70 are actually increasing over time. Pop in Shatt is getting more healthy. Trying to farm nodes out there and I see plenty of players flying around more than previously.
This phase will likely last at a few months, I’d say at least 2 more. Lots of people aren’t rushing.

It is not opening up more raids. Meta is just to far ingrained into this game. I cant even play the game without knowing everything about everything and no mistakes lol.
I just have no interest as i did not raid tbc except a little kara. I know everyone else knows everything about everything in the raid. I do not i just want to have some fun. Wiped twice everyone drops. It is just not worth wasting time on this community anymore.

That’s fair, but let’s be honest: if that were how it worked out in TBCC, you’d see people begging for BT instead of SCC and TE, using the OBVIOUS post-expansion launch drop off in players as an excuse.
“People are quitting!” Of course they are. They were never going to be long term players, and releasing more content isn’t going to change that. Most quit before level 61. The rest quit before level 70.

They really shouldnt rush through the phases. It’ll only burn people out. Take the game at a reasonable pace, enjoy it. If you run out of content, find something else to do. WoW doesn’t need to be your only game. If you’ve burned through everything already then you probably play too much to be healthy.

No it doesnt. I hope They delay it even further than whatever date they planned. There are ppl just now hitting 70. Ppl just starting getting attuned for kara. Not saying wait for them. Just showing that there are ppl at different paces. A lot of guilds have still not beqten nightbane or mag.
Slow down. Enjoy the game a little.

This is what happens to re-releases… everyone wants to bulldoze through the game, because they already know the content and said content is already easy. Now they’re out of content because they powered through the game because it’s not difficult and it’s been done thousands of times… relax, take your time and enjoy the past for what it was… if you can’t do that? Find another game to play until the next wave of content comes out.

You are alliance, that is why there is a “drop off” horde dominate everything, there is no point in playing as Alliance, so people either quit, or go to horde.
