LOL Love the ignorance about Spy. It hasn’t made it harder to stay stealthed. It made people who play druids and especially rogues learn some patience. Spy doesn’t announce someone whom was already stealthed when entering your range. Only those out of stealth in your range that use the ability get announced. Been ganked by enough smart rogues with my Spy running to know this fact. Blaming Spy for anything is laughable.
Theoretically a Hunter could use catseye ultra goggles, catseye elixir, Detect stealth and have a macro that targets any rogue on their spy and have a wind serpent set to auto dash and auto lightning breath making it impossible to get within a 30yard range of any hunter.
So yea it has you just wan’t someone to have a go at.
Signed a hunter, Who uses spy, Has engineering and a wind serpent.
Good post @OP and you addressed most of the issues that people usually use to dismiss forum posts so it’s clear who did and didn’t read. And yes this is technically PvP but we were also PvPing from the game’s launch and it was never like this. At the end of the day there is a mentality of superiority that people seem to want to express and they don’t care about the health of the game’s community while they do so.
Now if you want to say after 30 days of this it isn’t normal I’d agree. PvP had this state without DHKs and then with DHKs for a few weeks if I remember properly. Therefore, depending on its duration your could be right.
Which is why the option of leaving was specifically addressed and the door was locked. In this metaphor the option to leave has been removed. Or are you saying because someone enters a high temp sauna they should be locked in regardless of their health or personal comfort?
I mean if you are being killed at the regeant vendor then take a boat to theramore get killed several times then fly to Tanaris and try to do 2 quest and it takes you two hours theres a problem. Thats not a healthy game. Now this happening for several days …lets be real. Dont try and do world bosses either 200 horde on whitemane killing eachother at 3 am still smh.
Well, you should expect each Phase will bring along an abundance of tourists specifically playing just the Phase. Being on a PvP Server gives you zero opportunity to keep other players from ganking/attacking you. Why anyone wants to play like that is beyond me.
The beauty of playing on a PvE Server, is they can’t touch you, unless you turn on (a toggle) your character to be involved in a “PvP” rule set. If you desire to be ganked, PvE Servers provide this beautiful Toggle feature. Want to be left alone and work on leveling and your professions? Great! Toggle it off nor don’t turn it on, it’s really that simple.
PvE Servers have an imbalance problem, too. You may not be able to Group (this includes Guilds, Parties, Raids, etc.). Even then, PvE Servers don’t suffer too much from the imbalance issues as much as Gankfest Servers.
Personally, I never really cared about Spy. Whether it remains in the Game or not is irrelevant, to me. However, I will say it seems to be the PvP version of DBM.
Terrible friends to put their friends through hell that is the Gankfest ruleset. If they’re truly your friends, they would reroll with you to PvE. Even without Friends, Game is still soloable (not on a Gankfest Server, though).
Wouldn’t feel so “wasteful”, had you rolled PvE, in the first place.
But see, aren’t you “erasing” days of played time, this way, too?
Gankfest Servers never were “normal” PvP behavior.
Which you can still get on a PvE Server.
Agreed, that’s why I rolled on a PvE Server, so if I get tired of it, I can toggle out of it. It’s easy
and it’s also almost as if people realized how dumb and boring that kind of PvP is.
on thursday, hillsbrad was a huge mess with hundred of people on both side.
during the weekend you didn’t even have a 40-man on each side (earthfury) ; people figured out it was not only awfully boring, but gave no honor.
Now, the new meta is to run in small squad hunting slightly smaller squad for maximal honor gain… which is atleast more interesting and give melee ( who don’t have 3 pocket healer watching them) a chance to do something… but the moment phase 3 come out with BG, world PVP will die again.
Phase 2 is vacation from WoW time. I have no problem logging after I get ganked.
Not only that, roaming around as a raid in Winterspring where there’s like 2 horde is not efficient, it’s just clowning around.
I’m definitely not gonna subject myself to that for some herbs lol.
Went from level 20 to 28 over the weekend. All night Friday, And day and night Saturday, and the majority of Sunday…Didn’t matter where I went, there were people ganking me. Kind of annoying to be AoE Grinding a pack of 6 enemies, only to get ganked when i’m at 20% health…By a level 34.
But at least i’m now in the level range where I can basically sit in a dungeon for the next 20 levels or so to grind XP. I suffered through it, it was super annoying, but it is what it is. Just had to roll with the punches long enough to get past the point of needing to be vulnerable out in the open.
Not unless this phase is long enough to allow for a full reroll to max level, epic mount grind, and gathering most of my dungeon best in slot will “reroll on a PvE server” make a bit of sense.
I enjoy light world PvP that players can’t opt out of.
I don’t mind getting ganked by horde, even groups of them.
I do mind the game encouraging them to destroy the ability to do anything out in the world for their pvp sets by not having the more efficient honor grind in yet (BGs).
I like PvP servers in every other phase of the game than THIS one.
Phase 2 is an abnormality. It was never meant to be how PvP servers worked for extended periods of time.
There should be a setting between “no pvp save those that opt in” (PvE servers) and “good luck doing anything but dungeons” (phase 2 PvP servers).
Every other phase of the game IS that middle ground on PvP servers.
It isn’t the players’ fault that blizzard decided to ruin things for them for a few weeks by deciding to delay battlegrounds. Many of us never dealt with this tiny part of WoW’s lifespan. Phase 2 was always something I just wanted to pass quickly, since the game stops promoting griefing as the best way to gear up once BGs launch, and world PvP returns to normal levels.
