Phase 1 is way better than Phase 2

The leveling was better.

The dungeons were better. Seriously, SM is so boring. Just a bunch of humanoids in bland looking hallways. The gear is also terrible for most classes and there’s barely any of it.

The power climb was not significant. Hitting 25 and gearing up felt like we were turning into gods whereas hitting 40 and gearing up feels barely better than we were at 25.

STV is worse than Ashenvale. Sure, it’s pvp focused, but the lag and the awful layering separating you from your group makes it terrible. At least with Ashenvale you knew if you went to it you would be rewarded and not deal with any nonsense. Your group wasn’t randomly split up into 10 different layers for some stupid reason.

The gear was way more exciting. Does anyone even care about the Gnomer gear? None of it is as cool as the BFD gear was. The staff, sword, crossbow. Getting Talwar to finally drop. Gnomer gear looks so boring.

The profession epics seem like such a gigantic headache compared to the void touched stuff in phase 1. The void touched quest was great. It wasn’t difficult, didn’t cost a ton of gold, and didn’t take long to do at all. Now the new Gnomer profession epics are such a long, drawn out process that also requires a lot of gold. It’s just terrible in comparison.

PVP is way more unbalanced and just straight up broken in a lot of areas.

No dual spec is terrible for a lot of classes. It should have come now that we unlock the final talent in a tree.

There’s way too much travelling. Phase 1 was kept to Thunder Bluff and Ashenvale for pretty much everything. Now we have to go all over the damn place all the time it’s awful. It’s why these warlocks are making so much gold. Nobody wants to spend 20 minutes just travelling around to get to where they want to be.

The worst part is, in phase 1 I wanted to make alts. I started with a Rogue, then made a Hunter, then Warrior, then Priest, and a Mage. In phase 2 I hit 40 on my rogue and I have zero desire to do another character from 25-40. It just sounds like such a bloody chore, which is such a difference from phase 1, because 1-25 was not a chore at all. It was actually enjoyable.

Phase 1 > Phase 2

PSA: The first 2 weeks lockout is 7 days… after Tuesday, Lockouts are 3 days.

if you get anima only why get lock out

i finally found a pvp gang for stv and ab based on old friend group. but content wise p1 felt better, this feels hollow. cant quite put my finger on why

Pretty subjective take. I don’t disagree with the overall sentiment, but personally SM is my favorite dungeon grind, so I do disagree with this specifically, personally, subjectively.

I also really like the SM mail gear look, so… subjective.

Personally, I think STV is lightyears ahead of Ashenvale in terms of fun. It’s the first ever WPVP event that is actually WPVP, imo. That’s massive!

The rep from Ashenvale was alright, but the weekly was kind of trash, imo. Esp. if you were already exalted.

Well yeah… look at how many, “I’m bored. There’s nothing to do.” posts there were for phase 1. I’m guessing that left an impression.

Exactly why I said “for most classes”

You like the only gear it has lol.

I agree with many of your points

A) The profession money sinks was a terrible idea. I agree the p1 epics were much better introduced

B) Runes from this phase seem lackluster in comparison to p1

C) They should have updated/adjusted certain dungeons such as Uldaman, SM Cathedral, Zul’Farrak and Razorfen Downs and add new summonable bosses, so it is actually worth it to run these more than once.

D) No rewards for revered supply factions? Ok …

E) Loot itemization is still trash.

I quit already. Can’t afford anything. Who has time for this? Back to LK.

I do! Although, I did use the dagger on my mage, with the mage-quest offhand until 60 in WoW Classic 2019. Oh, and I think the helm from one of the rares in GY as well, though we didn’t have P1 BFD gear back then.

Yeah! This is probably my biggest issue with SoD right now. While I do find it incredibly fun overall, with the level caps being bumped up every 2 months, that’s like at least a week or 2 (or more, depending on how many alts you play) of the leveling rush (levels, professions, gear) every 2 months! That’s just kind of too much.

Phase 2 has better dungeons.

Gearing up feels way better towards and at 40.

STV is 10x better than Ashenvale. if you can fight near the boss for a full event, you can get 1500-2000 coins, I’ve done it. Already revered with AB. Plus it’s actual PvP, not PvE, and with a good group and great positioning, I rarely die. You’re the problem.

Gnomer gear is more exciting than BFD and epics drop more which is a good thing.

Profession Epics are great, it should be a gold sink, but the multiple quest lines/chains is a little confusing. Should have just been 1 quest chain, even a long one is fine.

Classic PvP has always been unbalanced around 1v1 which is what makes it great. Forces teamplay. It’s rock, paper, scissors. In retail, everyone has the exact same abilities named something differently that do the same thing.

Traveling the world is a good thing, and at least we’re on mounts now. Make a friend with a mage, it’s not that bad.

You’re honestly complaining about 1 week of P2 saying you don’t have time for alts. Relax, you’ll have plenty of time to do what you want.

Also, Gnomer Raid is more challenging, more mechanics, and more fun than BFD.

STV > Ashenvale
AB > WSG

I like SM cause I can solo it can get some pre-BiS. I like how I can finally use wsg bracers. Haven’t done gnomer yet. Supply crates are much worse, to the point of completely neglecting them.

Overall phase 2 is better, but barely. Phase 1 was ok.

Need a raid finder – but a real one, not a gimped retail-like one with gimped loot. Sick of needing a resume for every pug. It’s just dumb.

This phase would be excellent if the damage wasn’t as obscene as it is. Pvp is horrible

Season 1 felt a lot more fun and interesting. Phase 2 feels like people burned out on dungeon running to max level, did gnomer, exploited stv pvp event, got their epics and quit
