Phantom Reach

  • New Talent: Phantom Reach – Increases the range of most spells by 15%.

I haven’t seen any detailed information on what spells will and will not be helped with this talent.

The only spells I noticed that were not linked to the increased range is halo, holy nova, chastise, and void tendrils.

It increases the range of all your casted spells including heals. It doesn’t work on AOE effects though. So for example on Holy it made my heals have a 46 yard range, but Halo is still 40 yards.

It has some potential in M+ because most casters have a 40-yard range so you could theoretically sit outside their range and never be casted at.

Yea, this will be very helpful with void torrent because you’ll be able to move while casting it :slight_smile:

6 yards is far enough that you essentially get one extra GCD worth of time that you can cast if you go out of range. Theoretically, you could use that to get a 1-gcd cast off that nobody else could.

Realistically, the way I see this affecting gameplay is that priest uses the GCD that people usually use to get back in range to use Angelic Feather or PWS to try and get back in position with everybody else. Which is to say that it most likely will not affect gameplay unless it’s a fight with a large raid spread and the healers don’t have to move about as much to get to everybody.
