Pets broken/not showing up in Undermine?

Normally as you cruise through a zone, there are pets everywhere. But in Undermine, they’re … nowhere.

Especially with the CHETT list often having a chore to “collect 5 pets”, this would normally be easy and take 10mins. Now I’m driving around for 10 mins and don’t even see ONE pet battle!

I checked my map filter and I have pets turned on, and I reset the UI. But … nothing is here. And I’m playing a low-pop shard where Rares are up for 5+ mins after they spawn. It’s not like ppl are clearing out the pets.

Where are they?

IME, they’re alway pretty thin on the ground in Undermine. Surprisingly low density. Just one or two catchable pets in any area they’re supposed to be found in.

Which makes the necessary strat of killing common spawns to trigger rarer spawns (e.g., Wily Rat v. Acid-Drenched Rat) much more antisocial.
