On my hunter, the /petassist command successfully switches my pet to Assist mode, and /petpassive successfully switches my pet to Passive mode. However, /petdefensive does nothing. I am able to click all three pet modes to switch them manually just fine. However, if I use the /petdefensive command, either via manually typing or within a macro, it does nothing whatsoever. When attempting to use the command, I do not see an error as if I typed an incorrect command, so I know that I am typing it correctly and that it should be working, but it’s not.

Can you describe what you mean by it’s not working? If you or your pet are attacked does your pet not attack?
Using the /petdefensive command does nothing. It should switch my pet to Defensive mode (just like /petassist switches to Assist mode and /petpassive switches to Passive mode), but nothing happens. If the pet is currently in Assist mode, using /petdefensive does nothing and it stays in Assist mode, whereas if I use /petpassive it successfully switches to Passive mode. It is impossible to switch my pet to Defensive mode via command/macro, I must click the “Defensive” mode icon.
