Pet skill macro

Is there a way to make a macro that will use my pet’s different skills all on one key depending on the pet i currently have out? IE my nether ray’s nether shock, or my spirit beast’s heal, etc. Just don’t want to have 6 different hotkeys with different pet abilities that I can only use if those particular pets are out.

Also for some reason I can’t figure out the command pet ability doesn’t change no matter what pet I bring out. So the one function we get that automatically does what I’m looking to do with a macro for the other pet abilities doesn’t even work for me. If i click it, it just says “you can’t do that yet”. But I can drag the ability it’s self from the spellbook or petbar onto my hotbar and use it just fine.

Pull the skill from the pet spellbook to your bars when you change pets it changes automatically

This is not the case. Buttons with specific pet skills don’t change between pets. The only ability we have that changes based on the pet we have out is the “Command Pet” ability. Not sure what issue the OP is having with the ability.

As for a macro, someone posted a macro that works for the various abilities.

#showtooltip
/cast [pet: Spirit Beast] Spirit Shock; [pet: Ray] Nether Shock; [pet: Stag] Nature’s Grace

For other abilities you just need to put the pet family name and it’s ability. Also, if your pet is named, it still works with the family name. My spirit beasts are mostly named and the ability works.

As for additional exotic abilities, you could make a macro like the one above for those abilities. However, I feel that Spirit Mend is best done with a typical healing spell mouseover macro.

excellent thank you!

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed!

There used to be a means of macroing a specific button from the pet action bar so when you changed pets, it would cast whatever was assigned to that button (Ctrl-4, for example) but I don’t remember how and don’t have the macro anymore. I wish this was still possible, it made the macro’s so much easier to write once and forget about if you ever tamed something new.

None of this is needed, first response was correct, but more info could have been given.

What you want to do is use the “Command Pet” ability out of the General Hunter spell book, put this action button on your bar and it will switch between Survival of the fittest, Master’s call, and Primal Rage.
