Pet Map Filtering?

Is there anyway to make it so that the only pet symbol icons that show up on my minimap are ones I haven’t collected?

Yes. What you need is an addon called Battle Pet Completionist.

If you already have that addon, go into the settings and tick the box to show only uncollected pets.

Edited to add:

Forgive me. I misread this. No, I don’t think you can do that. You will see the green paw when tracking pets for ANY battle pet, not just the ones you haven’t collected.

The addon will only remove them from the regular map once collected, not from your minimap. That is part of the pet tracking function in the base game like tracking herbs or mining nodes.

Just confirming what @Meri said: You can’t filter the map to only show pet you don’t have.

Best option is just to collect them all… so you know you already have it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, there’s a pet addon that does that, can’t think of the name right this second, but I’m sure you’ll find it if you look in the pet section of curse.

That would be counter-productive anyways, since there’s many pets that can only be found as an add-on to more common critters when you battle them.

I don’t think you’d want this anyway due to how pet battles work.

The pet you engage with also draws 2 random pets in. I’ve gotten many I haven’t had just from engaging the one I already had.
Now if it was a zone by zone basis, sorting out the ZONES you have completed. That is something I could see and want myself.

Get the PetTracker addon, open up your map, and in the filter box in the top right corner type “missing” and it’ll only show all pets in the zone you don’t have yet.

There’s an addon call Battle Pet Completionist. This will do exactly what you want.

In this interest of being thorough, this is only MOSTLY true.

A small set of pets will not have backline pets. They’re just solo. The Eyes around Karazhan come to mind, they’re always solo mobs. Plenty of other examples, but yes it’s more common to have backline pets, but not always.

thank you so much

There is one that shows it on the side underneath your quests but I don’t remember which one.
