Playing hunter in Burning Crusade. Wanting to learn bite 6, tamed level 39 and 40 Drywallow Daggermaw in Dustwallow Marsh. Quested and killed many mobs but still haven’t learned bite rank 6. Learned new abilities by reading petopia, taming the beast with desired ability, use in combat and learn the ability. But failing to learn bite 6. Have a lvl40 cat that I want to teach bite 6.
A) Some times the RNG can be very poor for pet ability learning
B) I’m reading on the wowhead page that you should make sure the crocolisk is level 40 and is actively using Bite 6.
It is 40 and using bite 6. I guess I’ll just keep using it. Is learning an RNG thing?
The urban legend hunter in me says to keep the pet at full happiness and be close to the pet, just at the edge of your dead zone to stay in bow range sort of thing.
It is rng though.

15 min later. Abandoned the croc, retamed second lvl 40 and after second fight, learned bite 6.
