Any chance of resurrecting the efforts of making the solo hunter, pure marksman a playstyle? Considering the data mining of the new runes for phase 2, it seems melee hunters are very much going to be a thing. And that’s, um, great for melee hunters or whatever but maybe the Devs could also make a pet-less hunter a viable playstyle. Thanks in advance!

MM hunters will need alot of cc with range , traps , and also do a little melee as well . Lone wolf rune won’t be enough to keep a MM hunters alive .
MM hunters will also need a stealth rune . To hide from their enemies. Aim shot at long distance where no one can see them . The more distance a MM hunters is , the more powerful they will become .

No. Aspect of line is too good. And pets doing too well under line and bm spec
Go look a the runes you can probably make a pretty good lone wolf build. The two bracers that were datamined are booty cheeks but the remaining two could be good.
Sucks that you are stuck with Sniper Training on the legs tho…
Players can’t stand dying to a pet. Pets will always be overpowered in players minds even when they are not…so if Blizz wants to push Hunters away from BM then the other two specs are going to need to be good.
Lone Wolf Rune is definitely not the answer however I like you idea of a stealth rune (call it Camouflage)

It’s introduced in the same way that a martial arts hunter has been introduced—running the lone wolf rune will give you the same success as leveling your unarmed combat skill and using melee with no weapons equipped. Thus the post.
He means something that is viable. Way too much damage to give up at the moment.
Ya, it just takes a massive utility loss and damage loss to use it. So fun!

When SoD first dropped, I did attempt a petless hunter and found it to be some what rewarding… But never made it past lev 7 due to time constraints. But it’s entirely possible to accomplish if given time and tactics.

I wonder if people will try out a survival hunter tank with high dodge and riposte at some point using lone wolf and the new alpha threat spell from shaman
