These lava phoenixes looked so cool and apparently the devs agreed so much that they made battle pet versions of them too. But when you tame them, not only do they not keep that sleek lava spit attack, they also don’t even fly, just charge into battle on their feet like a chicken or a pheasant. It is really a buzzkill. I wanted to make a silvermoon themed hunter with phoenix pets but alas…yet another missed opportunity in this game.
Just spitballing here. did you tame one that was on the ground? if so try taming one thats in the air.
It’s the rigging they use. All the birds in Zenith Mortis have a skeleton that, after taming, forces them into a running animation. Blizzard is not using that skeleton for all new bird models.
You can thank all PvP players who whined about older models’ wings flapping and getting in their way.
