If you aren’t quoting someone, that was great writing.

The point would be to get better and bond with people. The issue is it’s probably easier to quit the game and find success in other ways than it is to find 2 other people both capable of improving, and willing to put in the time to do it.

arent we all? except me ofc.

anyways we all knew

Cormac McCarthy actually. I just wrapped up All The Pretty Horses

Finding people to bond with is very difficult. Connectivity through tech hasn’t surrounded us with peers, its surrounded us with anonymity

which is a bummer.

50% more cr

Is this one of those ‘free CR’ jokes, or did Blizzard actually change how CR is gained in BGB?

I mean they literally buffed cr gains by 50% because pushing 3700 at 19 per win was madness

Not even joking in the slightest when I say that Blitz is free 2400. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

I know a few people who would be hurt by that statement when they struggle at 1900.

Laying it on a bit thick today, are we

But yeah they also buffed initial CR gain considerably so you can knock out elite sets and stuff quickly

It cascaded down quite a bit. We’re getting 33 per win now, Last season the most I recall getting (after 1500) was like 22.

Guess I’ll find out this season. Promised my duo I’d keep queuing after Duelist, the tabard looks awful this season but I do like the HWL title.

I don’t usually subscribe to the cookie cutter ‘X is free’ talk, but there’s a few people I noticed who got 2400 last season that more or less made me feel like maybe it’s true.

The worst part about BGB is catching a bad streak then trying to 51% out of MMR where people just aren’t doing objectives. But if you can stay above 2k MMR you’re almost guaranteed to 50/50 (or better) and climb.

i sincerely don’t know how to win bgbs and at this point im afraid to ask

yes i have played warsong the same way for twenty years. yes that means terrorizing mid

Blitz doesn’t really check you in the same way arena/shuffle do so as long as you don’t actively throw by being in a terrible spot then you’ll usually just go up.

Disc, for instance, is usually just following your deathball around. You don’t have much mobility so you just plant and pve.

It’s why I swapped from MW to Disc. I refuse to FC, and just try to go where I think I’ll be most needed and heal. I run with a Ret, we basically co-support each other most of the game where we don’t need to break off and play separately.

Certainly not a perfect recipe but good results so far. Lol

Eventually yeah. There are people who are playing at 1500-2100. Are they amazing players? Probably not. It’s not like they want to hear that 2400 is free because to them it’s obviously not.

I know a few who come to me in frustration after a bad match and it’s just disrespectful to say it’s free.

Not really because it is :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated: Truly anybody can get elite in blitzos (and that’s okay). There were people in 3200 games last season who barely knew what map they were on, let alone where they should be.

I believe it’s a challenge for a lot of people. I generally do a lot of healing and try to map watch, so by that virtue I’m usually a solid random BG healer which translates well to BGB. But lobbies where 2+ people spend the entire BG sitting on me makes the game very hard for me, so while some people are just functionally great players, I’m fighting with all I’ve got from start to finish in any lobby where people are at least semi-competent. So even when I win, I still felt like I had to play hard for it.

I guess some people are just good to the point where it feels like the game is on training wheels, I don’t know.

It’s really just having an idea of your position/role and then pressing queue.

I swear people get these mental barriers that prevent them from just playing and climbing or something.

I guess we’d have to consider the absolute bottom of the barrel player. I was doing the WPVP quest as Shadow 2 weeks ago and the same Sin Rogue tried to kill me 4 or 5 different times, died twice and ran away each other time while I barely took damage.

If I’m mediocre and am that much better than him, there’s definitely a selection of players who aren’t going to climb by virtue of being a - to every team they’re on.

Yes, it’s mostly an ego thing. It’s quite annoying to see people call 2400 free to make themselves feel better.

There was a 2k rogue who’d just fight mid perma every game who got r1 last season :dracthyr_a1:

They aren’t sending their best

It is in blitz, though. You basically get it by accident if you press queue enough and don’t get discouraged by a lil loss streak here and ther.

A lot of less experienced players don’t seem to realize this.

Also interesting to see how Bigdam is doing after you said you weren’t worried about him last season because he’s an arena player that doesn’t know battlegrounds. Guess he figured them out? :dracthyr_shrug:

He had to have been doing something useful, even if it wasn’t the most Rogue-centric tactics. Lol

I’m sure he’s doing fine. His transmogs make me giggle.
