Pet hunger

Is it just me, or have pets really had their hunger escalate? Seems my raptor wants nibbles every 5 minutes now. Seems like something new :man_shrugging:t3:

idk if it’s new, but I have started bringing stacks of meat with me…

Me too, have to add a trip to Goldshire butcher along with all the other prep hunters need :-1:

When pets get higher level, you have to feed them with higher level food

You are using low quality food. Higher quality food last longer.

If you feed them their fav food it lasts even longer.

I feed him the 35/tick food, worked great for days, then just started dropping

Also, IIRC - Cooked food is better than raw food, so cooking as a hunter is kind of important.

So, you’re feeding him level 25 food at level 35+. Start feeding him level 35 food.

Your right, man that boy is getting expensive

Now does it make sense why hunters are good at farming? Cause you gotta keep farming to keep that boi fed.

Depends on pet loyalty for how quickly they need to eat again. And of course if they die/get dismissed.

Dismissing a pet increases hunger??

Yes.

Dismissing from distance does not though.

Yes, marking them unhappy

“hunger” isn’t a thing; happiness is, and it is changed by feeding your pet, your pet dying, dismissing your pet with the Dismiss Pet ability, supposedly “abandoning” the pet by hard leashing it, not helping it kill mobs, and it also decays over time. happiness also increases or decreases your pet’s loyalty, which can ultimately cause it to run away if it remains unhappy for too long or to increase it’s loyalty level which is how you gain training points.

finally, eventually pets outlevel certain foods. IIRC, they get full happiness from foods their level or above but it’s compared to the food’s item level, not the level required to eat the food. typically the food’s item level is 10 above the food’s required level. lower level food gives less happiness that stops at 30 item levels below (or, if they eat lv 45 food, feeding them that level or above gives a full 35 happiness per tick, then 17 per tick at item level thirty five, 8 at item level twenty five, and finally no happiness at item level fifteen). this is all done in batches starting at lv 5 food, or tough jerky, then lv 15 with fresh baked bread and so on so we can use the scale of what we can eat, for what they should eat.
