the new pet Dusky Timbertooth at /way 71.69, 74.18 in Ohn’ahran Plains in WoWhead it says you gotta clear the sticks in order to do the pet battle. there are no sticks in the location to clear and you can see the pet but not interact with it to start the pet battle. I believe it is a glitch.

You are not alone in this. I have tried running around for about 30 minutes to see if the “cog wheel” mentioned on WoWHead is maybe in a place near the tree pieces covering this little guy, killing the adult timbertooths that spawn, /tar Dusky Timbertooth and even using the hot key for interacting with things in game to no avail. Turned of all add ons, restarted the game AND Bnet… seems nothing works

Yes I also could not find a cogwheel to clear the branches away. Help us Mr Wizard(Warcaft Support) I turned of addons and restarted. No luck.
Still not working on Echo Isles. Turned off all my add-ons; restarted; reloaded ui; all the tricks.
It’s still glitched. I tried killing the beavers, then hanging around. I turned off all my add ons and reloaded UI
The beavers respawned, and I sat there afk on my druid for 45 minutes, waiting for the sticks to show up, on the larger logs. The beavers were in theory building things but the sticks never spawned.
I know that the hardcore pet people in the game isn’t a huge number, but for those of us who go for every single pet and want all of them, this is sad.
It would be a fun, cute puzzle for the people who go all out on pet hunting, but sitting here for that long, and giving up is just not fun.
followup to myself…I logged out did some other things, logged in again, sat there, stealth by the logs, watched the beavers and all to no avail.
It’s just sad to me that it will be a super back burner project and not get taken care of. Apparently, according to Wowhead some people did get it, so I guess it’s working as intended and won’t be dealt with.
So I logged out at the pile of sticks, and after reset, the cog was there, and I was able to remove the sticks and tame the pet.
During that the beavers came back, so my advice is pull them away so you don’t risk killing the pet.

I have been waiting for three hours and no cogwheel…I’m frustrated and giving up for now…I’ll come back after reset and see if that makes a difference. This is ridiculous
Still bugged after almost two months - or bugged again. I’ve been checking on them for 12 hours now and no accumulated sticks or cog/gear.
I have been trying for 2 months to get this pet. I am going to try the “after reset” trick and if it doesn’t work I am giving up on this one. Blizzard needs to fix this pet battle or something, this is ridiculous

It took me three separate days, even after reading the tips on wowhead. My sister and I used all the tricks and still spent SEVERAL hours watching the Riverbend Chompers supposedly building the dam and still didn’t have the cog show up indicating I could move the stick. We also went back the next day with the same results. On about day 5, after skipping a couple of days, I stopped by and found the cog. I was able to get the pet then. I also believe this quest is bugged.
I’m guessing this only works the first time each server reset?
Spent as much as a half hour watching them bring sticks to the dam and went back to it all day long and have never had an interactive object to click on. On a Monday before reset.
One of those bugs that only effect a few people, but it’s a real infuriating time waster for those few.
Edit: Logged off at the quest before maintenance and the sticks were there when the server came up. Looks like it’s a shard hooping until you find one it hasn’t been done on or wait for a server reset.
