Pet class?

It would be amazing if one of the paths in Ele would allow you to make your earth elemental permanent.

With pet classes having such an advantage in all solo content, it would be amazing and not lore breaking to have a permanent earth elemental for some content, and you could switch back to pure damage for dungeons and raids.

Use this opportunity to really make the class evolve

Having a permanent earth ele with primal elementalist would be far, far too strong. Plus our tree is fantastic already, I’d rather they not screw it up for a meme build

Well, I agree with you, but opting in the tree to have a permanent pet would obviously leads to sacrificing some power of the character himself.

It all boils down to having more chance but I fully agree that some sacrifice should be made to have a permanent pet

The loss of a few points would be absolutely worth the staggering power gain.

And this doesn’t address the issue of messing up our awesome tree for a meme build

Was a reason ever given for removing Primal Elementalist’s pet wall? I know it makes it less of a must have, but still confused why it was flat out removed.

I looked last night and couldn’t find any mention of an official statement.

Could just be a bug that it’s missing?

I agree the tree is good, but it still limits the shaman in an important manner. For example, you cannot solo 5 players quests or elite mobs because it takes more than a minute to kill them so the pet doesn’t help.

Hunters and Warlocks can easily solo them.

Yet, we don’t get anything in exchange, we don’t do more damage in raids or M+ than Warlocks for example, they top the damage meters.

It’s all a question a fairness, a class shouldn’t be best at everything

This is something that should never in a million years be balanced or designed around. This is possibly the least important part of the entire game.

Entirely dependant on tuning. We’ve blown both of these classes out of the water in certain seasons, and they us in other seasons. Warlock was dog water in keys for 6 years until SL season 3

i loathe pet AI in wow. its enough to get me to not play w/e spec is the pet spec. demo / frost mage / any spec of hunter. some MMOs do the pet ai really well, WoW absolutely does not.

If this was pick-able as an alternative to primal elementalist (aka, not allowing both at the same time) and if it came with a reduction in strength, I think it would be interesting.

For me soloing elite mobs and elite quests is important, so I am not sure I understand your response.

There is no “balancing needed” Warlocks and Hunters are still way stronger than Shaman even is the shaman elemental was permanent.

The on lot thing I ask is for the option to make it permanent, you don’t want the path in the tree don’t take it, it’s quite simple.

Once again, soloing rares and elites is a huge advantage. Just doing the weekly quest in Zereth Mortis will take way longer because as a Shaman I have to wait for other people to engage the mob while a Warlock or Hunter can get it done in 30 minutes because they don’t need anyone else.

Also leveling. An elite mobs during a legion invasion at level 30 will give you 2 levels for one kill if they have the xp bonus. Yet the only class that can do that are tanks and pet classes.

No reasons other classes should be lagging behind that much.

If only they hadn’t given our bloodlust to…… you got it, hunters.

The class that has absolutely no weakness and can DPS from range on the move.

Once again, just trying to be equal.

While it may be important to you, soloing rare elite mobs has never and will never be taken into account when balancing happens.

This is simply not true and is entirely dependant on tuning.

And I’m saying why would you mess with our near perfect tree for a meme?

There are always groups for this. In zeroth morris the only ones I can’t solo already are the super rates. Locks and hunters can’t really solo these either unless they want to spend 20 minutes doing it.

Shaman are already fantastic for levelling, and levelling is already so fast that this one scenario shaving off a few minutes is not a big deal.

They aren’t

If you want to address imbalance between hunter and shaman, then you should talk about giving us a better defensive, not a meme talent

You wouldn’t mess a tree, you just add a path, like another row on the right or left side, as you wish. The rest of the tree is untouched, so it’s not messed up.

The balancing happens when you leave talent behind to take the permanent pet, thus making it balanced.

I also don’t see it as a meme at all, it becomes the Shaman 4th spec, and something new to add to a class that has been largely untouched for a few expansions. A meme would mean the class is a joke, I am talking about a totally viable 4th specs, and more choice for the players.

As I am typing this, I have been waiting for 14 minutes near the rare bullfrog in ZM and no one is showing up.

As for leveling, Shaman are not that good. My group of friends and I are playing the more and more popular hardcore challenge, which means when your character dies you have to delete it ( like diablo if you played it ) and restart. Pet classes have a huge advantage in this mode, because characters like mage and shaman have a high risk of dying while leveling.

Also, the permanent pet might not be needed if the temporary pet was actually useful. even as a primal elementalist, the Elemental gets shredded in 10 seconds by 2 normal mobs in Zereth Mortis

Finally, you are saying give us a better defensive talent. The best answer is a pet. Why do you think Warlock and Hunters are unkillable in PvE and PvP ?

I’m switching to Shaman because it feels Thor-like however, I have no interest in summoning Korg…

A complete waste of developer time and resources, and in this case would be able to be combined with primal ele, which once again would be broken in keys and pvp.

One takent is not automatically 1:1 to every other talent.

Adding in a something so that you can solo content that was intended to be killed by multiple people, is absolutely a meme

Shaman are incredibly strong at levelling

Yes, the Ironman challenge. I’ve done it on shaman, it’s pretty easy especially with earth ele as a get out of jail free card. Designing the game around a challenge like this is a heinous idea.

It definitely does not, I can have it live for the full minute even against 5+ mobs in ZM, idk what you’re doing… try using its stun and wall. You can also heal it.

It can live for a while even in decently high keys which hit a hell of a lot harder than normal mobs.

Ok so this statement really shows you have no idea what you’re talking about. A pet does literally nothing for either lock or hunters survivability, outside of open world content, which frankly is so easy that it’s not that big of a benefit.

Hunter isn’t that strong for survivability outside of their immunity, and warlock has increased health and armor, healthstones, port, and unending resolve.

What in gods name would a pet do for us dying in a rogue stun or getting one shot by a boss ability?
