Pet Breed Question

So is it actually a thing that you should avoid B/B pets?

Basically, yes. Slightly lower base stats.
Sometimes, however, there’s no other option.

ok, thanks.

Not always, so much depends on the particular pet and the moves you are going to choose. Using Unborn Val’kyr in a match where you open with Curse of Doom, then Unholy Ascension, you give slightly more damage, and have no downside from using a 3/3 instead of the 6/6.

With such a useful pet, you might as well collect both breeds.

a b/b pet has 98% of the stat value that a pure breed will have (-2% in stats).
yes that’s actually significant.
On the other hand, a green pet has 92.3% of the stat value as a blue one (-8%)
that’s much more significant. (a level 25 green is equivalent to a level 23 blue)

BUT, while you can upgrade a pets rarity, you cannot change its breed, so when your making your collection you need to learn about breeds and decide on your breed collecting strat right away as you begin collecting; otherwise you’ll be going back to recollect your collection later on.

In particular you really need to consider the speed stat. It’s an all or nothing approach and either your faster or your not (or in rare cases tied) making you go first every move while your faster.

Secondly some stats are more valuable on some families where the family bonus is significant. For example health might be the least valuable stat… but not on humanoid pets.
