I started SL about a month ago and noticed my pet always behaves like it is always set to passive. So now in any encounter I have to command the pet to attack. Something is weird.
One thing I have happen now and then is that even if I have the pet on Assist, if I’m in combat and I command the pet to follow, then it stops assisting. Sending it in with Kill Command or Barbed Shot (Stomp) doesn’t turn that behavior off. I have to do an explicit /petattack to counteract the /petfollow. Once I do /petattack, it generally starts behaving normally again. I imagine the many people who macro /petattack into all their shots never experience this!
The best way to get fairly reliable control of your pet is to have /petattack and all 3 basic pet abilities macroed in to all of your attack abilities. Then set your pet to passive so it is only fallowing your commands which are made as apart of your basic rotation. Keep in mind if you tab target or miss click something far away and hit an attack button even if your out of range your pets WILL go and attack that target which can use miss pulls in a dungeon.
I have notice I have 2 Haitis one will attack while other just sits there by me
That’s what I’ve done, macroed it to an ability,
