So there’s a big freakout right now in the wake of the unfortunately timed Nintendo patent where a gamerant article went out apparently using a citation from Ion to put out there that pet battle devleopment is being walked back to match the telemetry of low engagement in the feature. It’s basically getting neutered in midnight.
I can’t post links, I’m sure you’ll find what I’m talking about. There are other threads about that part as well, so I’m gonna move past that.
What I am saying with this thread here is: Vote with your time. If you don’t like a feature, ignore/starve it. If you like a feature, play it.
Yes, this does favor the bottom end of the “pyramid is narrowest at the top” concept, duh. There are more “casually invested” than those “LIVE TO WIN, TILL YOU DIE
” types, and yes that does mean that stuff like delves will get a LOT more love than the content for “the apex of the pyramid,” but that’s just how that works.
If Pet battles are being walked back purely because of engagement telemetry, people voted with their time. WoW SHOULD do better at entertaining “a majority of minority groups,” and I’m not defending this moment of failing the pet battle community here, but IF this is all just a response to engagement telemetry with the feature…
Y’all housing people: House like you’ve never housed before.
Learn from this. If you want more neighborhoods, live in and love your homes. I’ve been saying that since it showed up, but like… yeah. Archaeology discontinuation happened. Pet battles are apparently happening now, in regards to “discontinuing in response to engagement.” Nothing’s getting taken out that exists already, but expansion of features… that’s apparently a telemetry thing now.
Kinda said that before, just bringing it up again.
