Try relogging?
The client probably missed a message from the server and is still waiting for a reply to an earlier attempt to start a battle. I’ve seen it happen a few times over the years when there are network/lag issues.
moving out of range and then coming back will sometimes untangle the confusion.
If not, a /reload might clean it up
if that doesn’t work, I’d go with a full client restart.
