Pet attack macro broken?

I just started playing yesterday. I got my first hunter pet and I can’t for the life of me create a macro and get my pet to attack. He just stands there doing nothing! Ideally I wanted to combine pet attack with mark and auto shot, but nothing I do works. All I am able to accomplish is putting a mark on, but nothing else happens. Please help!

I use the following:

#showtooltip Hunter’s Mark
/cast Hunter’s Mark
/PetAttack
/cast Charge
/cast Dash

Add the following to also auto attack:

/cast !Auto Shot

still not working, I’ve added all commands, all that happens is I mark the target, but I do not attack nor does my cat. I’ll try abandoning my pet and try a new one, this one is defective… but then so am I since I cant macro my auto shot. I’m not sure I want to continue being a hunter if this is so broken.

its just /petattack

Given that no one else is having a problem with the commands, it’s likely that there is nothing wrong with your pet or character. It is most likely that you have a typo, didn’t actually keybind the macro, or some other similar minor error.

(I had that problem a bit ago trying to figure out why my macro wouldn’t work right, turned out I hadn’t actually put it in the action bar slot. Macro worked perfectly once I was actually using it.)

#showtooltip
/cast Hunter’s Mark
/PetAttack
/cast Charge
/cast Dash
/cast !Auto Shot

Try it like this, maybe?

Edit: this is assuming you already have a target selected, of course.

Aryxymaraki… bingo! I am stupid lol, I was the defective part. I had been using just mark before I got my pet, so it was in the spot I use as my opener. Then I programmed my macro, but I failed to put it in my opening move bar slot. doh! It works now, thank you all for the help!

Like press CTRL-1 or remap it to something else?

What’s the problem here?

Oh I see, you thingk pressing two buttons is hard for Mark and Attack … OK.

I have a two 1-line macros. Each one is on a key:

/PetAttack (on the E key)
/PetPassive (on the T key)

My R key is the Hunter’s Mark
My ranged attacks are on keys 1234
My melee attack is on key 5

Most of my fighting with my pet uses those 8 keys, plus the tab key for targetting the mob.

I don’t like combining things, because I often do them in a different order. I could have 6 combinations of things, but I’d rather hit these keys in a different order for each situation.
