I would assume with some of us spending more time at home, we learn a lot more about our beloved pets. What’s something new you’ve noticed about yours?
If nothing new, what is something your pet(s) does that makes your day?
Today I was tossing a wine-bottle cap to my kitten Thanos, as usual because he is obsessed with them as much as he’s obsessed with the Lion King… (any version)

…and he brought it back to me in his mouth.
I threw it again.
He came trotting back with it in his mouth.
THANOS PLAYS FETCH. MY KITTEN. THANOS. PLAYS FETCH.

Just wait until he learns to snap his paws.

My roommate’s cat massacred a giant rat amongst the stack of canned goods I had sitting on the floor by the pantry.
She also didn’t mention it until I had been back home for several hours (I work overnights, so I’m rarely here for his little conquests), after I’d had plenty of time to kiss him repeatedly on the lips. Figures I have to be a special snowflake and catch the plague or hantavirus or some crap like that when everyone else is worried about covid.
So, few nights ago a coyote attacked my neighbor’s cat in my backyard.
I heard the commotion and went to investigate. My pibble Bruno was about 5 steps ahead of me and the moment the door was open just enough he decided enough was enough.
Cat is alive and recovering. They only suffered wounds on their front leg luckily and are relaxing in my neighbors house with their new cast. Neighborhood has 1 less coyote because I do not think it’s recovering from the 90 degree backwards bend Bruno rewarded it with. Bruno is doing his normal routine and being a chicken nugget addicted couch potato and accepting all belly rubs and being used as a pillow by my nephew.

o.O It’s generally a good idea not to do that anyway…
My older cat, Meko, has gone blind. Not sure when, but she definitely is now. Keeps wandering the house, bumping into me. Fortunately, I think she has the place memorized, because she can find her way around with relative ease. She can find her food and water bowl, and we’ve put a pillow in the ground for her to sleep on since jumping onto the couch is hard now.
But gosh darn it, I swear she walks under my feet while I’m walking on purpose. She’s been stepped on/kicked by accident by like 3 different people now.
I have two cats, Craybait, a very lanky calico, and Bruce, her daughter, who is this weird grey-and-black tiger-like breed with a white belly and socks.
And Brucie is … large. Like, nearly half again as big as her mother and she’s a chonker.
I’ve got two people staying over with me during this Corona Madness and Brucie, being a snuggler, is being a pest and crawling all over people, demanding snuggles.
Tess, having never been able to have pets because her parents were devoutly religious and had some sort of issue with domestic pets as a result, and then a wife who is deathly allergic to dogs, has officially claimed Brucie as her own for the duration of her visit, and I woke up at 2am to hear delighted squealing from the master bedroom where we’ve set Tess up, I stick my head in to see what is going on, Brucie is sprawled over the bed and Tess is rubbing the cat’s belly with the biggest
-eating grin on her face.
Apparently my cat is now officially dubbed the ‘jelly loaf’ as a result.
My cat is a jerk. I play with the laser pointer for about an hour, running him up and down the halls and on the carpets and giving him a good work out.
I set the laser pointer down, and he jumps on my desks, stares at me, and doesn’t move. When I ask him why, he smacked the laser pointer off the desk and stares at me some more.
In short, I’ve noticed my cat is a diva. It’s either his way or a slew of angry stares and loud meows.
My cat, Azsuna* aka Lil’ munchies aka Munch, well, we’ve decided to journal out her tabby moods now that we are home all the time.
It’s getting cold here, so she’s taken to sleeping above my head at times. Also stormy, so she’s been hiding as she doesn’t know how roofs work.
It’s just funny how in the summer she stays on one side of the house and in winter, stays closer to us. I think she hates the sound of the fan in the bedroom. Also, of course, big fan of body heat haha
*someone tossed her out of a car into the park across the street from where we were living during the first week of Legion, don’t judge me.
