I guess using Hurricane bow is out of the question cause 1.6 speed lol your pet would never get aggro
what i really wanna know is why do all the hunter guides say open with aim shoot…I mean an auto shoot will puill aggro forever …what do you thing an aim shoot will do and oh boy if it crits.
Owl + Screech (and Dive). Never needed, or wanted anything else, Mobs stick to it like glue.
Pet trainer has a new level of growl every 10th level.
My cat has little problem holding aggro over me as long as I let her get a few hits in before i do too much.
half the time growl is resisted
If you’re constantly trying to kill things above your pet’s level, this can happen, yes.
well they are green level and i still pull aggro no it’s not the leel
It is if you have the right pet. I have an owl and trained screech. I send mine in and immediately start shooting and the majority of the time it has aggro before the mob gets to me and almost never loses it.
Pets do create threat but this isnt the current broken, lazy system. Pets are intended to help. Not to be main tanks in 5 mans or simplified for children. You have to keep an eye on your threat generation (Threat plates helps). Send your pet in and give it a few seconds before dpsing.
Here’s a macro that helps a bit. Serpent Sting doesn’t do instant damage and damages after a few seconds so it should give your pet enough time to get aggro first.
#showtooltip
/cast Serpent Sting
/petattack
Get a boar…train growl
I use
#showtooltip
/cast Serpent Sting
/petattack
/cast growl
about 50% of the time he will cast growl. after the fight starts it’s about a 20% chance to cast it again.
Ok got a new one more you guys
the pet can gain aggro over a mend pet healing… no damage just one cast of mend pet and pet can’t get aggro off me.
Yes my raptor does the same thing. He gets aggro right away.
My turtle pet does not
-
Keep Growl up to date.
-
Use a pet with a fast swing time (1.3 speed cats for instance). Use the Petopia Classic website to find things if need be.
-
Use either Bite or Claw and keep them up to date. Don’t use a third auto-ability, because you will starve your pet’s action pool.
-
Send the pet in and wait for it to land a Growl or pull with an auto shot to your trap, walk backward and send your pet into battle so that it intercepts the mob as it crosses your trap.
I’ve been doing this and the only time I have pulled agro off the pet is when I over-used Multi-Shot. Just need to take it a wee bit slower.
Warlocke Void has better aggro/threat. . . . ok.
only thing with 4 there is if your auto attack crits your pet isn’t getting aggro off you.
what do you mean? my bear holds aggro like a champ.
Use control 1 let Youer pet attack first let it hit a few times then attack shuld hellp
Just wanding will pull agro off my blueberry. Imp is waaay better tank.
ya if i wait till the mob is around 30% the pets tend to hold aggro better
