There is no way to make your damage output worth more than tanking for solo play.
You won’t be able to kite or burst rare elites, so you don’t get to solo them as MM ever again, period.
Like I said, it’s go BM or quit now.
They’ve already deleted my original spec (ranged SV), now they’re going for MM.
I don’t like BM. It’s beyond boring. I don’t like the pet focus, I like the pet as a helper.
Make a new spec if you have to, but stop killing established ones.
Sweeping changes is how you kill games or alienate the current player base.
It’s a very risky move, one that has already killed or mangled franchises: Dynasty Warriors, Breath of Fire, and Final Fantasy (not the MMO) is seemingly headed that way.

They’re going to make Aimed Shot crit more and more often, so yeah we will have far more burst.
The pet never provided any burst damage, it was just passive attacks.
I think we’ll be just fine, if we have to play more like mages then so be it but I bet you I’ll still be able to solo Tier 8 Delves with this new build.

they did add a roar of sacrifice for the eagle spotter talent for the new marks design though. that’s one off your list.
Its adding more spec identity. Hunter used to be 3 bow specs with pets. They’ve been moving towards making them unique. Im all for ot.
With that attitude, you’re better off on the ignore list of everyone sane.

There is a choice, it’s called Beast Master. One who uses beasts. Survival hunter makes sense as is, and this new eagle for Marksman sounds cool as heck. If folks want pets, they have a spec for it.
I hope they allow customization options for the “pet”. Like, a generic Eagle doesn’t fit with all the races. A raven or bat for undead hunters, a mechanical bird for gnomes and goblins, maybe a pterrodax for trolls… things like that.
