Personal loot again!

PLEASE JUST BRING BACK PERSONAL LOOT!!! SAME AS MYTHIC PLUS. Loot and go on your way. Make loot soul bound so people can’t trade them. PERSONAL LOOT 2025 for the LOVE OF GOD. Hate having to roll against every one in this damn world for a piece of loot. Its always the crappy player with negative dps/Floor POV that rolls 90+.

but then we won’t see loot drop.

You had to roll against everyone in the raid for personal loot too. You do realize that, right?

They don’t. It doesn’t matter how many times someone explains how personal loot worked, there is a sub section of people who either won’t get it or just doesn’t care and the posts continue.

The irony of this statement is probably lost on you, but I’m going to give it a try anyway.

During Personal Loot, each eligible raider contributed a 20% chance of a loot drop. Every 5 players would guarantee one item. A raid of 15 players would see 3 drops, a raid of 20 would see 4 drops, and a raid of 25 would see 5. Every time a boss was looted, there was a roll made on behalf of every eligible player. The top 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 rolls, depending on how many eligible raiders there were, would receive loot. The other people, who lost the roll, would get nothing.

If you’re in a raid with 25 people, the the top 5 rollers would get loot, and 20 people wouldn’t. You wouldn’t see the rolls, but they happened. Everyone was rolling against everyone else, just like they are now.

Yes, but it would decide that you won loot before deciding what you got, so you usually got SOMETHING.

Personal loot felt better. After running both LFR and normal raid to get only one piece. There’s something wrong with the system or they should remove lockouts

Wow, trying to make the system objectively worse in every metric. 20% drop of random loot that is untradeable? Gross.

Yeah, even if it was a neck, cloak, or ring that you didn’t need.

There’s not a functional difference over time between rolling for the loot drops then rolling for the winner, and rolling for the winner then rolling for the loot drops. Multiplication is commutative, so the order isn’t really an issue.

Feelings aren’t better than actual math.

What’s the difference between running LFR and normal and getting only one piece, or running LFR and normal and getting 2 pieces of loot you won’t use and 1 you can equip?

It was a non-issue early in the season and GL becomes an issue later in the season because you’re passing on so many items. I get 2 or 3 items from GL for the whole season.

It felt better to get something and trade it to a friend or guildmate than to get nothing at all.

No, it doesn’t. Group loot doesn’t have a higher tendency to drop items used by all specs, so this issue simply doesn’t happen with group loot.

Have you considered running the raid a second time?

I run the raid every week, all season long.

That’s not an issue, that’s gearing up. You get fewer loot opportunities the more gear you’re wearing…

Now they can just roll on it themselves without having you win it by proxy.

With PL, I could get an item as a drop that I needed for transmog and nobody had any right to it. Now I simply don’t roll on it or I’m a jerk

You mean to tell me that you ran the raid twenty-something times, killing 8 bosses each of which drops one item per five people giving you an approximately 20% chance at gear at the start of the season, increasing late into the season as individuals are incapable of rolling need, and you expect me to believe you only received 2 items? 2 items, off of 160+ kills?

You can do that now, too.

You’re assuming I just rolled on everything that had a dice button.

So, you are complaining about not winning items but also don’t want to roll on items? Of course you aren’t winning items that you don’t choose to roll for, that’s why you didn’t roll for them.

With PL, I could win items for transmog that the game awarded TO ME and I was under no obligation to give them away. Now I’m mean for rolling need if I don’t need it. Transmog rolls are a meme. My guild had a no begging for drops policy.

There are so many gearing outlets, M+, delves, crafting, vault, that this is entirely possible. It doesn’t mean the raid drops are too low, it just means he’s gotten gear from other places before he had a chance for the raid drops.

Still a thing.

If you need it, roll need. If you don’t need it, don’t roll need. If someone is giving you grief for rolling on an item that you need, and you didn’t establish before hand how you would distribute loot, anybody who whines about you winning a drop you are eligible for was going to whine about it under personal loot.
