no, you cannot enter the barbershop appearance change interface and then activate gleeful glamour (you’d have to leave the appearance change interface in order to open your bags and click on the gleeful glamour)
the player in the video did not open their bags and click on the gleeful glamour consumable, did they?
We dont know that.
they didn’t show the player leaving the barbershop and opening their bags to activate gleeful glamour.
the player got a race change while inside of the barbershop appearance change interface.
so we do know that.
We do not know that.
Last I checked, I can open my bags while in the barbershop building.
Checkmate.
can you open your bags while inside of the barbershop appearance change interface?
no you cannot.
You are not required to have the interface open while inside the barbershop building.
this conversation is getting hilarious.
With how close we already are – it’s really more stupid to not just unlock everything.
Use a recolor of racial mounts for the Paladin Charger and just borrow whatever the closest same-faction Shaman race is for Totems – Implement unique ones as time allows in the future. Same for Druid forms - borrow the closest reasonable race models for now.
Restricting Race / Class combos means nothing. Lore-wise, cultures will still have their go-to’s and their taboos. Those can still be reflected in NPCs and Story (and the more severe taboos can even be an opportunity to add flavor - unique dialogue, lower starting rep with the players’ own faction, etc). But the Player Character does not have to be an echo of cultural norms. We are a “Champion”. Everything seems possible to be learned, to some extent. WoW doesn’t really dabble in innate powers that others can’t use, at least not when it comes to general classes.
The only iffy ones are Undead combinations (Undead + Life is weird for Druid, and Undead + Light is weird for Paladin.)
But we have Drust Forms for Druids. Use those for Forskaken. The game already has an Undead Paladin as an NPC (granted, not in the best mental state, but it exists) and now has major NPCs like Calia. Blizzard is obviously not opposed to limiting the use of light for Undead characters.
When we already let Night Elves become mages and warlocks, when we already let EVERYONE be Death Knights well after WotLK, when we already let Goblins (of all races) be Shaman, there’s really no excuse to restrict things due to norms and lore anymore.
At the very least, if Blizzard isn’t cool with releasing Druids/Paladins/Shamans without their racial models (and in fairness to them, old Blizzard would hate the idea of that), unlock the REST and get to those 3 as able.
There’s really not even a need to add backing lore to support it like they did for Night Elf Mages. Backing lore is only needed to explain a shift in the entire race’s shifting culture. If it’s just the champion player character dabbling in whatever power they can get their hands on, it doesn’t break anything even if nothing changes.
The only one that probably needed it so far is Death Knight, because of the nature of how they are made. Without the Bolvar stuff, it wouldn’t been silly.
Okay so complete tangent, but fun quirk of the barber interface:
If a queue pops while you are actively editing your character, you can only accept it while in the barber interface. If you leave the interface, the queue popup goes away too, and comes back if you re-enter the interface.
Thats an incredibly silly and specific bug
the gnome in the video sits down and looks into the mirror, which is entering the appearance change interface.
blizzard used to charge real money for gender changes, but then put those into the barbershop for free.
why would they not do the same thing for race and faction changes?
Doesnt change anything I said.
gender is largely different from race changes.
the person in the post i quoted said that they would never allow race changes for free because it is part of their revenue.
i replied by stating that they used to have a revenue stream from the gender changes and then decided to give us that for free.
i am correct here.
hope you have a lovely day.
I am having a lovely day in being correct.
Not likely to happen as they make too much money with the race change service.

yeah, i would agree.
race/class combos can’t really be stated to be based on lore anymore because of how taurens are rogues, etc.
as they make too much money with the race change service.
same thing happened with gender changes, though.

this video directly showed a player receiving a race change inside of a barbershop.
No. It didn’t. It showed a Gnome getting a haircut and that he felt so swank, he felt like a Tauren.
Y’all made stuff up, because none of you remember Confidence in a Cut.
Gender changes and entire race changes with racial changes are two different things.
why would they not do the same thing for race and faction changes?
Showing as male or female doesn’t change anything about your character besides cosmetics.
Changing your race changes your racials, it would cause everyone to be swapping to whatever is meta each week, something Blizzard doesn’t want.
It’s a paid service, with a cool down, because they don’t want players changing their race Willy Billy just for a slightly competitive advantage based on the content they’re doing.
Not really sure why that’s a hard concept to understand.
I vote no thanks.
