Ideally I hope there could be a Era-type realm for every expac that’s going through a Classic cycle. There’s a market for all of them, I personally would love to play on MoP forever. Everyone deserves to play their fav expac forever.

I think it would be a missed opportunity to not make a permanent TBC server. After it’s had it’s run, do another launch but have it go from Vanilla to Wrath with a permanent home at the end of that one. These could be “WoW: Legacy” servers seeing as the events up to WC 3 are the precursor to WoW’s birth, and the death of Arthas bringing the story full circle.

they should just run these server thru to the end of wrath and just keep them at wrath. but allowing us to clone or transfer our toons to a perma era server of any of these expansions or vanilla

Definitely sympathize with this statement. While I personally feel like Cata broke a ton of the charm of the game, and I would like to dwell on a Wrath server as a completionist, each “popular” xpac could potentially be frozen in time.
One thing is for sure. I hate the pace of content consumption in later xpacs to the point where core elements of the game are no longer fun. Gear and player levels should not continually fluctuate so that things in your inventory when you come back to the game are completely valueless. If you play at Level 70 for a couple years and come back to the game that character should not be Level 35 or whatever. Something was taken away that I earned. There has to be a place where things can live without constant squishing and revision. And this is maybe part of the reason why private servers are popular.
